Where the river meets the lake

Advantages: fanatstic lake side views, spacious rooms, very luxurious
Disadvantages: needs a little updating

On arrival at this amazing hotel I was taken back by the luxury of it all...It is an all glass triangular hotel wedged between the merger of the Chicago river and Lake Michigan on E.Wacker Drive and has fantastic views of Navy Pier and Grant Park....Hotel is close to all the major chicago attractions including Navy pier and the Shedd Aquiarium and the Magnificent Mile.......It is within easy reach of the C.T.A( Chicago Transport Agency) We made our ...
...our stop was only 10 minutes walking from the station to the hotel...........On arriving we passed through a large oversized revolving door leading into an impressive lobby... Check in was very smooth and we were offered an upgrade to a lake side view room...Staff were very helpful and polite and went out of their way to help....On entering the room - I was very pleasantly surprised - the view was amazing looking out over Lake Michigan and we watched ...

Go there!

Advantages: Perfect !
Disadvantages: Pricey parking... but that's true for every big city.....

Travelled to Chicago (lovely city) in the summer of 2008 and chose this hotel for the price (1000 US $ for 7 nights, 41$ a day for parking with valet) and the star rating (4 and a half). This hotel was perfect for me. Location: Great! Right next to the magnificient mile, Chicago's upscale district, 30 seconds on foot to the John Hancock Center (Where you can drink a cold one on the 96th floor, best experience I had in all of my life) and if you ...
.../ Bentley dealer and test drive one (.... well you could try and ask....). Safe surrounding, borded on the north and west by the upscale near north neighborhood, in the middle of the magnificient mile, michigan lake to the east. Service: Great! This hotel is located in a rich part of town, with other rich people hotels nearby, lincoln, limos, lexus and porsches parked everywhere. I drove there in a Hyundai! Parked in front of the hotel behind a mercedes, ...

Handy Hilton Hotel for High Flyers

Advantages: Can't hear the planes, right at the airport
Disadvantages: Bit of a trek into the Windy City...

...Google suggested that the Chicago Hilton O'Hare Airport Hotel might be my best bet: http://www1.hilton.com/enUS/hi/hotel/CHIOHHH-Hilton-Chicago-O-Hare-Airport -Illinois/index.do - it is the only hotel physically linked to the airport building. As I've mentioned in my other Hilton review so far, I am a member of the HiltonHonors club, which is free to join online and highly recommended for providing excellent room rates and special offers not found ...
...£80. Booking on the Hilton site is quick, safe and secure and I had my confirmation printed out after just a couple of minutes. Arrival and Check-In: I flew into Chicago O'Hare from Nashville, collected my luggage and made my way to the main Arrivals hall at the airport. It was great to immediately see a sign saying "Hilton" and despite the fact there was major refurbishment work going on in the Arrivals hall back in June 2007, it was easy to follow ...

grand and spacious

Advantages: good service
Disadvantages: expensive food and internet

I stayed at the Hyatt in Chicago for a conference. The room has a high standard – large by European standards (in fact everything is large in this hotel). The level of service was excellent – room service responded to requests for coat hangers etc. in minutes. The hotel has a basic gym (free) which didn’t seem to get too crowded, although I never went in the morning. Unfortunately there is no swimming pool. The room has internet, although there is ...
...location – the wrong side of the river for down town Chicago (although still within easy walking distance) and the night club in the lobby at weekends. It’s advisable to ask for a room high up (there are something like 20 floors) so you don’t get disturbed. I stayed on the 9th floor and there was no problem. Also the mini bar and hotel food is seriously over priced – and be warned: as soon as you tough something in the mini bar you will be charged ...

...night. Upon entering the W Lakeshore in Chicago, I was a little confused, but not for long. Reception was just past the shimmering lift area and check-in was swift. In the background was the bar area, already heavily populated during a late Friday afternoon, and looking as though it was going to get more rather than less crowded. I suppose it's a teeny bit formulaic that the backing track to the scene was very much in the Supperclub music vein, ...
...paranoia, I would probably put W Hotels at the top of my choice list of chains because it most suits my own tastes in modern decor and approach to design. Even though I encountered children in the hotel, the overall feel wasn't that of a family-focused environment. When I recently headed to New York on business, W Hotels were the first group I looked at for a room, but hopes were dashed by location issues. The hotels is a recent addition to the Starwood ...
