I stayed at the Hyatt in Chicago for a conference. The room has a high standard – large by European standards (in fact everything is large in this hotel). The level of service was excellent – room service responded to requests for coat hangers etc. in minutes. It’s advisable to ask for a room high up (there are something like 20 floors) so you don’t get disturbed. I stayed on the 9th floor and there was no problem. Advantages: Perfect !
Disadvantages: Pricey parking... but that's true for every big city.....

Travelled to Chicago (lovely city) in the summer of 2008 and chose this hotel for the price (1000 US $ for 7 nights, 41$ a day for parking with valet) and the star rating (4 and a half). A Hotel in that Toddlin' Town, Chicago

Advantages: Fast, friendly, efficient service. Comfortable and spacious bedrooms
Disadvantages: Extra charges for wi-fi and parking.

Handy Hilton Hotel for High Flyers

Advantages: Can't hear the planes, right at the airport
Disadvantages: Bit of a trek into the Windy City...

Whitehall Hotel - grand name, lacklustre finish.

Advantages: Best shopping in Chicago (very) nearby.
Disadvantages: Run down and shabby. Very limited room service.

OK. My experience is a little different from the other reviewer! We have just been to the hotel this last weekend. We paid $100 US per night. Our room was small by US standards and rather shabby, looking as though all the furniture had been in the room since the hotel first opened. The staff were polite, efficient and helpful.
