My friend who works in Wood Green assured me that the Chicago Rock Cafe was an excellent place to have lunch, so on my day off went there with her to see just how good it really was.
The flyers on the wall promised an excellent time, and the food was excellent value, the promotion was two meals for a fiver, so we ordered two BBQ Chicken and Fries platters, for a fiver I was not expecting gormet food. There were only four other people in there at the time so we assumed as it was quiet we would not have to wait for long.
After waiting 10 minutes for the people in the queue ahead of us to be served two cups of coffee by the trainee waitress (who was not being helped) we finally placed our order for food and drinks... but there was a problem, she did not know how to enter the promotion on the till so we waited a further 10 minutes for someone to come and show her.
Feeling both exasperated and hungry we took our seats and waited.. and waited and then we waited some more, we finally lost patience after 20 minutes and called over a member of staff who apologised and told us they had thrown away the ticket because they were having problems.
I did not know wether to laugh or cry, it was only the offer of another free complimentary drink that kept me from demanding a refund and walking out.
On the tale opposite two other diners were upset because the wrong meal had been brought out and they too had been waiting ages. My friend thinks I should give them another chance as the place has a great atmosphere,when it is busy but I feel that if they can not get a meal order right the first time when it is quiet, how will they cope when it is busy? Give this one a miss until they get their act together. And the music was naff as well.
A poor show from what could otherwise be a great place for people to stop for a bite to eat.

Good op,I went to Chicago Rock Cafe in Lincoln & had the two for a fiver thing.The onion on the salad looked about 3 months old & the glasses were mucky.E Coli Rock Cafe!
