As I was growing up I have heard everyone rant and rave over this fast food chicken place called Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC for short). My awful experience with KFC was located in Dubois Pa. KFC has many locations in the US (I do not know about outside the US). KFC only sells chicken products like...chicken breasts, chicken nuggets, chicken fingers and chicken salads just to name a few ( they also serve side orders with their meal deals like...French Fries). They are most famous for their big buckets of the Kernals chicken. As I think about writing my opinion on KFC....my stomach turns!
About three years ago I was in the process of moving away from my hometown (a very small town) and ended up finding myself moving to a city (Dubois,PA) . Kentucky Fried Chicken was only three blocks down from my new apartment. "GREAT" I thought...so I hopped in my car and drove down to get a bite to eat!
So far it was great...they had a drive-thru...( I was pregnant and I didn't feel like getting out of the car because I was as big as a house!) I looked at their menu and they had a lot to choose from (in chicken of coarse) and their prices weren't bad. So I ended up ordering the Chicken Finger Meal Deal. This was four nice sized Chicken Breasts with a side of fries and another side of Cole Slaw for $3.49 (average price of take-out at a restaraunt) I gave the nice girl my order and to my surprise it wasn't a long wait at all. It actually came right away!
Well, I took my meal home and I couldn't wait to eat the chicken everyone else was so nuts over. Well...Here Goes...
I ate the first few bites and thought I was mistaken...so I took a few more bites and I didn't really see what the big deal was. It did have a distinctive taste, but it wasn't very good (just my opinion). Maybe even a little worse than others! Well I ate it anyway...until I was full. (It is definitly true when they say pregnant women will eat anything)!
Around two hours later, I wasn't feeling very good!...AT ALL! I was vomitting almost every fifteen minutes and my stomach was hurting bad. I couldn't figure out why...so I called my Doctor and because I was pregnant and I had previously had some problems with my pregnancy he made me go to the hospital. Well I ended coming home diagnosed with food poisoning. The most upsetting part of this whole situation was that I was pregnant. I am not sure why the chicken made me sick...whether it wasn't fully cooked (it tasted fully cooked) or the establishment was filthy...I am not sure and I do not care why, all I know is that it made me sick while I was pregnant.
All in all I would never recommend this (so called) restaurant to anyone, anywhere at anytime! The service is great and the prices are good, but something isn't right with the chicken. As I mentioned previously I am not sure if the establishment was filthy inside or not because I went through the drive-thru, but I do know I will never eat Kentucky Fried Chicken at this Dubois location again!

I rated this VH as you are naturally trying to warn others about the possibility of bad food at a particular KFC. I have had good experiences about the KFC in my hometown however and it might be a little dangerous to slam KFC too hard. I personally would make sure that the local people to that particular restaurant are made aware.

Got a little confused about you writing about a KFC in the USA...and I think the chicken made you sick because it had merely been left out too long. Fresh chicken (raw or cooked) should be ODOURLESS when held to the nose. It's not always easy to tell though when something has been deep fried.
