Advantages: Friendly staff, good food, great drink and a friendly troublesome clientelle. Also no music is played and so chatting is easy without having to shout. Disadvantages: Gets quite crowded at the weekends.
...Ask someone for directions to O'Neills pub in Dublin and the majority will direct you to O'Neills on Suffock Street. You will be making a big mistake if you follow their directions because you will be missing one of the jewels of Dublin, O'Neills on Pearse Street.
This pub and guesthouse has been run by the same family since it was founded in 1885. When walking up Pearse St. O'Neills cannot be avoided because of its attractive facade. Many floral baskets adorn the front of the attractive Victorian building.
Entering O'Neills you will be greeted by the friendly owners who are all brothers. It is a charm to sit at the bar and banter with the frieldly mixed clientelle.
Food is served on demand and all is homemade by a resident chef. Often on a Friday evening complimentary trays of chips and cocktail sausages are passed among...

Advantages: close proximity to central attractions Disadvantages: none
...Just returned home after four days in Dublin and would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone on a short trip to Dublin. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean and tidy with sky/cable TV.The restaurant and bar are modern and the food is of a reasonable standard and choice .The hotel and bar staff are efficient and friendly .The hotel is situated within ten minutes walking distance to the Temple Bar area and minutes from the aircoach stop in O'Connell Street. On the downside the hotel is situated in an area where there is ongoing regeneration work being carried out, hence the view from your room may be unappealing, but besides that it is an excellent value for money hotel within close proximity to the city's central attractions. I personally would book this hotel again if returning to Dublin....

...St Patricks Day, 2000. The fun was never ending. Do go if you get the chance. We went and stayed in Temple Bar, flew with Ryan Air for £25 + Taxes and had a ball.
St Paddy's Day is the time to visit as everyone is in a carnival mood. There are parades and fireworks and smiles on the faces everywhere. The bars and pubs serve great Guinness - we found O'Neills to be the best - just around the corner from Molly Malone's Statue, near the Tourist Information centre in the Church.
A great time was had by all. Well worth a visit - do go!...
