My life in Yunnan

Advantages: A nice place to visit with tons to see
Disadvantages: Language barrier for some people

...the most southern part of China bordered with Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos. There are 25 minority groups in Yunnan province, each has their own culture, live style, food and many more, making Yunnan province to be one of the culture rich province in China. The weather in Yunnan province varies from place to place, the most southern part which is Xishuangbanna is very tropical. The biggest tropical rain forest of China is located in the valley area here. ...
...endangered kinds of tropic animals and plants live, structuring many wonderful ecological sights. More than 10 minority groups live in Xishuangbanna, such as Dai, Hani, Bulang, Jinuo, Lahu, Wa, and Yao, etc. Among these ethnic groups, the populations of Dai and Han ethnic groups are the largest. The famous Pu Er tea came from this area. While Xishuangbanna is tropical, Li Jiang which is more to the north is rather temperament with cool mountain breeze ...

Xi'an - Beautiful madness

Advantages: Authentic and loads to do
Disadvantages: Easy to get lost

Xi'an is the capital of the Shaanxi province and one of China's major cities (being the country's capital at one point). It's an old city which hasn't developed quite as quickly as many other major cities. There is plenty to do in Xi'an and you're unlikely to find a day with nothing to do. I have given a list of some of the major attractions, but there are many more to be found; just by exploring. City Wall Xi'an is one of the few cities in China ...
...most complete surviving city wall in China. The wall is 8.5 miles long and you can walk round the wall (taking roughly 2 hours) or for far more fun you can hire a bike (or Tandem) and cycle round. The wall is full of pot holes so be careful if you cycle. Muslim Quarter The Muslim Quarter is a great little tourist trap. Located by the Drum Tower is a maze of street venders selling everything from tacky tourist merchandise to authentic Chinese handicraft. ...

A place called Heaven on earth

Advantages: Extremely beautiful place to visit and enjoy
Disadvantages: None for nature beauty lovers

Recently I visited Jiu Zhai Gou (九寨沟), beautiful valley located on the northern part of Si Chuan (四川) province China where the big earthquake struck in the early 2008. Si Chuan province is also the home of the giant pandas, but because of the earthquake the pandas were moved to other areas in China. Jiu Zhai Gou Valley is located in Nanping County, 450 kilometers (about 280 miles) to the north of Chengdu City. Its ...
...In order to go to Jiu Zhai Gou, you have to go to Cheng Du (成都) which is the capital city of Si Chuan province then catch a plane to Jiu Zhai Gou, travel by land was possible before the earthquake struck Si Chuan, but now it's unlikely passable. Si Chuan is famous for its opera and extremely spicy hot pot (try it if you dare he..he..he..he). Most of Cheng Du people can speak quite reasonable English, but having knowledge of some basic ...

Taipa

Advantages: Relaxing Atmosphere & Good Food!!
Disadvantages: Crowded during weekends

Taipa is an island situated at the south of the Macau pennisula. The area is around 6.3 sq.km. There are two bridges connected between Macau and Taipa. The third bridge will be opened to the public soon. Taipa is best know as a resort island. With increasing number of population, it has become another good residential place for young locals to escape from the busy city. Macau International Airport, the University of Macau, the Jockey Club's Raceway, ...
...Pou Tai Un, Taipa Village are all located in Taipa island. Taipa Folk Museum educates the visitors about the life of the early Portuguese settlers. It used to be the home of a Portuguese family. The house is furnished with European antique furniture. And by observating the room decorations, visitors will have a good knowledge on the details of their daily lives. Outside the museum is the seashore, the scenery is awesome. You will witness a spectacular ...
