Advantages: Location, rooms Disadvantages: Availability, lack of loyalty/points scheme
I first visited the Chiswick Moran Hotel in July 2006 when it first opened, as I'd just begun working in Brentford about a mile from the hotel and it fast became my favourite hotel in the area. Since then i've stayed there probably in excess of 150 nights over the last 2 years.
The Hotel
The hotel is part of a small chain owned by an Irish family which has other hotels in Central London and Dublin. As I mentioned above, the hotel itself is relatively new, having been open just over 2 years, and its taken some time and had its teething problems, but I think they've got things just about right now. Each room is very modern, with thick pile carpets, designer lamps, bright colours, and everything is very clean. There are lots of rooms designed to fit all sorts of needs, from standard double rooms, twin rooms, family rooms ...
Advantages: very clean, modern, close to tube, quick check-in Disadvantages: far away from Central London, staff, not perfect for vegetarians
Three *Days* in Hounslow
As some of you know, I live in Germany and regulary go on holiday in London for some
shopping and just getting back to my beloved England! :)
This time, I once again went with a travel group by coach. This group always organizes
everything and take a hotel according to where they can get the best deal. Usually,
their hotel was "Custom House" in the Docklands, but this time we were put into the
"Days Hotel" in Hounslow.
As the price was included in my holiday, I can not tell you how much I paid for the
room and can only give information provided on the website regarding the prices, but I
will tell you all about the quality of the rooms.
Arriving
As we arrived, the coach drove behind the building and we took our luggage into the
lobby. My first impression was a good one - everything looked clean ...
Advantages: Comfortable, international full service hotel Disadvantages: Busy front desk
I have stayed at the Safari Court twice. Both times it was very busy and appears to be one of the most popular hotels in Windhoek for international travelers and businessmen. Everything was very professionally done. The rooms were well appointed with two double beds. The AC worked well. The bathrooms were fairly spacious. The reception area got very busy at times and one might have a wait to get their key.
The lounge was comfortable with plenty of open seating areas for reading the local paper. The restaurant has excellent a la carte selections that were surprising for their quality. A buffet was available for breakfast and dinner with typical breakfast fare. The dinner buffet offered many selections including local game such as oryx and lots of different appetizers. My father liked the buffet best and I liked the a la carte ...
