Diakofto lies on the north coast of the Pelelponnese, at the entrance to a spectacular gorge which operates a thrilling rack-railway system through the ravine to the ski resort of Kalavrita, although the train journey is impressive whatever the season as the train crosses tiny bridges and passes through numerous tunnels en route.
