Christchurch new zealand. Well what can i say? One of THE most beautiful places i have ever visited in the world. I visited christchurch last christmas (2007-2008) and had one of the most memorable times of my life.
When we arrived in christchurch airport the security was tight, showing the care that new zealand has for their country. We had our walking boots washed down and our big rucksacks emptied to make sure everything in them was ok! Which it was thankfully. And we walked through the doors to be greeted by beautiful sunshine and us thinking omgosh, after just coming for 9 degree tempratures in the uk, to 27 degrees in christchurch.
We stayed in a guide house on our first night (as we are guides) and it was called crarcroft house and it was beautiful. On our way travelling through christchurch we commented how fresh and clean the whole place looked which is alot different to the UK. We only stayed in christchurch for one night at that point beuase we were spending a week in kaikoura first but thats another beautiful story! On the first night we went out to buy fish and chips and were amazed at how friendly everyone was. In the chip shop we were invited to a firework and music event that was going on but unfortunatly we would be in kaikoura then. All the locals talked to us and we thought it was great how everyone walked barefoot without any worries.
The next week we spent in kaikoura but then we came back to christchurch for the 18th scout jamboree. Which was amazing we had lots of lovely new zealand weather and managed to see bits of christchurch. We went to a place called pigeon bay to do water sports, im not sure if that was in christchurch but it was very near, And we went to a wildlife reserve and a place where maori's lived and they were having a wedding. we learnt eh greeting where you rub noses! How cool.
We also went into the main centre of christchurch where we saw the buskers festival went in the cathedral and went up the tower in the cathedral. We went on gondolas down the river and on the trams. It was all so very beautiful and amazing!
If someone wanted to know weather to go to christchurch new zealand then my answer would be absolutly yes. Do not delay, go now! Its absolutly brilliant and everything is so much cheaper there than in england! It was a wonderful place to go and i would advise anyone to go there at least once!

We went to Christchurch for a couple of days, as our main holiday was with friends in Hamilton. I went ski-ing for the day, it was great. Some more information about Christchurch and what is there would imrpove the review, and also watch out for capital letters on place names :o)
