As soon as we entered, we realised that the rooms were small in our opinion and were overpriced for the amount being charged (we paid about £130 for a double room). There was enough room to fit luggage in the room, but the room felt a bit cramped overall.
The rooms felt in need of modernisation and a bit of redecoration. The bed felt a little small for a double bed and we felt a little insecure in the surroundings. There was a simple single lock on the door with no internal door chain lock.We felt that the portions of the English breakfast offered was small and the service could have been better.
We felt that the staff could have done more to make you feel more welcomed, and didn't even say bye when we left the key.Normally we would have expected a hairdryer and a kettle in the hotel room, but maybe we shouldn't have assumed that this was included. Soap and shampoo was included, however there were no other complimentary items such as biscuits or tea that would be expected for the price paid for the room. There was a small TV set with the standard channels.
To us, it seemed like this should not be classed as 3 star hotel but was more like a guest house.I am sure that there were many other hotels in the area that offered better value for money.

Some useful information given here, but I do agree with the comment below that there is room for even more detail - mentioning the price certainly would be good, for example. (Have a look around the site at some of the highly rated reviews to get an idea of what site users like to read). Still a helpful review, though!

I think you've got potential to expand this if you wanted to. Maybe you could add something about the price you paid for your stay, whether you felt secure, what the furnishings in the room were like (freshly decorated or in need of being decorated?), whether you got any of the usual room extras like tea/coffee/biscuits/soap/shampoo. Was the room so small that you struggled to get your luggage in and would a person with a large suitcase have struggled?
