Church of Our Lady Before Tyn

I went to pay a visit to this church after the end of our walking tour which terminated in the Old Town Square. Located at the corner of the Old Town Square facing the Tyn courtyard , it does not look impressive on the outside but inside, it’s definitely magnificant. It is one of the most ... Read review

A nice and beautiful little church in Old Town Square

Advantages: Nice decoration
Disadvantages: NA

It is one of the most impressive gothic sacral building in Prague. The building work started in Mid 14th century and did not finish until the early 16th century. In the late 17th ...
...The church is small inside with only a few rolls of seats, part of the church is restricted to vistors. I went in and sat for a short while to admire the magnificiant archietecture and decoration. The one thing which caught my eye was the beautiful chandelier. I think it's a place to give yourself a moment of peace and quite, to be away from the hussle and buzzle of the Old Town!!

March on up to the top of the hill....

Advantages: Amazing views of Prague once you reach the top!
Disadvantages: The staircase made me feel dizzy.

going round and round this narrow staircase... Thankfully every now and then there was a wooden bench to sit and rest on, and catch your breath... but dont look down if you're not one for heights until you reach the platform! As you climb you come to the first level viewing platform. The tower offers impressive 360'c views of Prague, you can clearly make out the castle, Charles Bridge and the Church of Our Lady before Týn (my favourite building in Prague located in the Old Towen Square). Despite it being a miserable grey and cloudy day, we had a good view and could see buildings for miles. This platform was sort of outside the tower, and with it being a very windy and cold day we decided after having a good rest it was time to continue our climb up the tower. I should point out now that there is a staircase to go down, and a staircase to ...

The most beautiful city in Europe

Advantages: Lots to see and beautiful place
Disadvantages: NA

and he also died at that moment. There was a very close connection between the clock and its maker. After the tour finished, we went to get some lunch. The Czechs are meat lovers and similar to the Germans, sausage sandwiches can be found everywhere in the city. We had some lunch and started walking around the city. We first went to the Church of Our Lady before Tyn. It does not look impression on the outside but inside, it?s definitely magnificant. It is one of the most impressive gothic sacral building in Prague. The building work started in Mid 14th century and did not finish until the early 16th century. In the late 17th century, the interior decoration was changed to the Baroque style. After that, we had some snacks in the nearby market. I had the tradtional czech cake which is a circular cone coated with a thick layer of sugar ...

Review of Things to see in Prague

PERFECTLY PRAGUE

Advantages: Fantastic city, plenty to do and see, beer still relatively cheap
Disadvantages: City is loosing some of its authencity by becoming Westernised with the likes of McDonalds popping up

off the square are a veritable maze and wonderful little shops are to be found ? including a delightful and delicious ice cream shop with an amazing pistachio ice cream ? mmmmmm! Beside the Old Town Hal, which is home to the much acclaimed Astronomical Clock (tip ? try and visit on the hour to see the clock chime! We kept missing it!) and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn the square has several other buildings dominating its skyline including: the baroque St. Nicholas church, Kinsky palace housing the National Gallery graphic collection, the Stone Bell house - a gothic city palace from the 14th century - now the Municipal Gallery concert and exhibition rooms, and the Memorial to Jan Hus. CHARLES BRIDGE Ok l know this is the most popular tourist trap known in Prague but it is extremely pretty. It is the oldest bridge across the Vltava ...
