Disadvantages: some people might find this place too rural

...Well, Negros (Occidental and Oriental) is about the best place to be in if you're in this country. For one, the humble city of Bacolod is found in this place, the city I might point, is the home of the famous Masskara festival and, of course, the forever delicious Inasal (marinated charcoal-roasted chicken). But besides that, what makes this part of the country special is that there are so many to see. With its numerous towns and cities-each with its own culture and history-you have enough celebrating to last for a year! I mean, there's the Pinta Flores, Cinco de Noviembre, etc. I couldn't remember all the other festivals we went to but heck it was fun all over!! La unica vez que intenté usarla no pude nunca terminar de bajar mi exchange en 15 minutos!! La televisión son solo seis canales, cinco de los cuales son en portugues y solo CNN en español... además todos los canales se veían con interferencias y lluvia. Pese a que en hotel había no menos de un tercio de hispano parlantes, ningun empleado (ni siquiera en recepción) entendía ni hablaba (ni hacía esfuerzos por hacerlo) español... así que trabajé durante doce días de interprete portugues español para mis hijas y mujer. La seguridad un desastre; un día en la playa de estacionamiento me equivoqué y abrí con mi llave un vehículo idéntico al mío, intenté ponerlo en marcha, nos acomodamos... Read review

...to vila olímpia or vila mariana. These are 2 regions full of nightclubs and bars as well and the nightlife is great. maybe not reasonable but the atmostphere is worth it! About the transportation, the traffic can be a bit horrible early in the morning or in the beginning of the evening and the parking is usally expensive, but its the safest way for going out at night .id avoid buses (they can be quite confusing) and give preference to the subway during the daylight. For gadgets and cheap stuff go to "vinte e cinco de março" street. if you dont mind many peopel around because its a street full of shops and sidewalk vendors, but beware because there are many fake stuff being sold and you dont want to be arested! If you prefer somewhere with less people and more enterteinment, there are many malls, like ibirapuera, shooping paulista, etc... Read review
