A Cineworld multiplex cinema has been reasonably near me for about 2 years now. When it first opened it was the best thing since sliced bread, it was value for money, good services, nice friendly staff and a generally nice atmosphere.
But now it has gone downhill dramatically.

The Cineworld near me is in Feltham, Middlesex and is in a leisure facility park site. The cinema was built alongside Mega bowl, Rivia Bingo, Frankie & Benies, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Chicitoes (I hope I spelt that right). Altogether a lot of fun and fast food! Cineworld was defiantly the highlight of the centre when it opened.

The cinema has 14 screens with about 6 being large, 4 being medium and 4 being small, I think. There is a large selection of food and drink for consumption, including Hagen Dass Ice Cream, and a sweet factory.
There are films running right through the day, over and over, some of the same films running at the same time if popular.

Anyway, down to the nitty gritty!

When you go through the door of Cineworld, it is a very stupid layout, the ticket booth is placed literally right in front of the door, so there’s hardly any room to queue, that doesn’t help when you’ve got kids that want to get into the film and pushchairs and wheelchairs all over the place!

Cineworld decided to put in two self-service machines so that you can pre - order you tickets on the phone and then just collect them from a ticket printer with your credit card. Now I thought that this would be a brilliant idea, but no! None of the machines can read my credit cards because the machines are out of date, so I can’t use them. There’s also been great planning in where to put these machines; right in the ticket booth queue so you’ve got to queue round these disused bulky machines!

So finally when you get through collecting your tickets, there must be some chance of getting into the film! But no again!
I brought a few cans of coke and a bag of popcorn with me because basically it’s cheaper in the supermarket, but for some strange reason they confiscated it all from me because it wasn’t bought from the cinema! I then got really mad but the kids wanted to see the film and were urging me on so I said I would deal with this when I got out of the movie.
So I had to go and buy 4 small popcorns and 4 small cokes. I could not believe the price it was totally extortionate. It cost me £17.60, that was dearer that the tickets themselves. I was very mad now, but I just wanted to watch the film. So I did.

About ten minutes into the film this little man working at the cinema and nudged me and told me that the manager can see you now if you like. I just said no, I would speak after the film because I want to watch it. He said OK.

I watched the film and I thoroughly enjoyed it! But don’t think that was my tails, no. The kids went back to the car and I decided to try and find the manager, but when I got to customer services, the woman said that he had gone home because I had said in the cinema that I didn’t want to speak to him. I was fuming but the woman said just right a letter to him and you should find yourselves with some free tickets.

I thought that was reasonable and done just that, but I haven’t had a reply, its been three months now!

As you can probably understand I will be going to my bog standard cinema for the foreseeable future!

I would only recommend this cinema if you have been there before and know what it is like!

Hoped you’ve enjoyed reading, because I’ve enjoyed writing!

That certainly seems a place to avoid. I have nevr heard of having drinks and popcorn not bought in a cinema being confiscated before. Then they expect you to pay those rip off prices it is disgraceful.

Ah for the olden days when going to the cinema was an event. I used to go to the 'State' in Kilburn which was the size of a cathedral. Balconies, Pathe News, tubs of ice-cream with wooden spoons and the infamous Back Row. Kids now, don't know what they're missing, change from a shilling, respect their elders, national service... mumble..mumble.......
