Roll up, Roll up!

Advantages: An uspoilt victorian boozer in a good city centre location.
Disadvantages: Very small.

...all agreed on was The Circus Tavern. We found it on the map and found that it would only take us about ten minutes to get there ~ sorted!

~~~WHERE IS IT?
The Circus Tavern is about half a mile from Manchester Piccadilly Train Station and can be found at number 86 Portland Street. It is located in the city centre so is convenient for a stop off during a day out, whether to or from the Station. It is also quite close to ...
...THERE?
The Circus Tavern is reputed to be the smallest pub in Manchester and also one of the smallest in the UK. Records also say that it is a very old pub ~ it was built around 1790 and was the place where circus performers and entertainers from the Chatham Street Circus (a street near to Portland Street). This history attracted us to the pub straight away, as did the fact that the interior has remained pretty much unchanged since ... more
It's a Circus !
Advantages: Brightly lit
Disadvantages: Noisy,ugly,garish,lacking in architectural merit
Piccadily Circus to me has never been a favourite bit of London. Frankly if I were a foreign tourist I would be rather disappointed with the place. It has always seemed to me to be garish,dirty,noisy, and generally lacking in architectural grace or harmony. Leicester Square,although also very busy,is,in my opinion,a much nicer area to explore. The Circus is also a let down in that Piccadily which leads into it is a very nice stretch of urban architecture and houses some great shops.When you arrive at the Circus,elegance has "gone out of the window". I do not understand why the site was not redeveloped years ago for it looks tatty and is not a suitable nodal point for a great world-class city. ...
The different rooms at Circus Circus
Advantages: variety, cheap and cheerful, large, clean, well-decorated
Disadvantages: depends which rooms you choose
There's so much to review when discussing hotels in Las Vegas and Circus Circus hold as many attractions under one roof as other hotels on the Strip, if not more. Here, I want to review the accommodation itself, namely the guest rooms. Circus Circus currently has the cheapest priced rooms ON the Strip since the closure of Stardust and New Frontier. There are two significant sections of guest rooms and the room rates vary, depending on where you stay. (For your information, the hotel offers a KOA RV park and motor lodge, including a small camping area, but I cannot comment on these in detail.) The more expensive rooms are the Tower Rooms, situated in the main building. These rooms are clean, smell nice (that may sound like a strange comment to make, but sometimes hotel rooms can smell musty and stale) and are nicely decorated ...
Adrenaline rush at Circus Space
Advantages: Adrenaline rush as you fly through the air - great fun!
Disadvantages: Need to be relatively fit (and some courage)
Have you ever wanted to have a go on the Flying Trapeze, do a bit of acrobatics and juggle? (preferably not all at the same time) - Well believe it or not you can. As I was approaching my 50th birthday my two colleagues were trying to figure out what to buy me for a present and, knowing that I was probably daft enough for anything, decide to give me a Circus Skills afternoon. If I am honest I was absolutely delighted, I knew it was just the sort of thing I would secretly enjoy (provided I could summon up the courage) and the fact that I had been given it as a present meant it would have been churlish for me to turn it down wouldn't it? If you haven't yet reached 50 you might not understand the mentality, but for me my increasing age left me in no doubt that there were some things on my list of 'must do' items where time was just ...
