The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent english. This was great as I was not yet brave enough to attempt my basic German!

I spent 4 days over the Easter holidays in Berlin. We stayed at this hotel for the three nights of the hotel. We arrived on Bank holiday Monday and discovered that the Germans take their bank holidays very seriously - so most places were closed.

The hotel calls itself an apert/hotel, which means that the rooms are semi selfcatering. We booked a double room - which by the discription meant that we were to get a doubel bed and and sofa bed in the room. When we got there we only had a sofa bed, which we had to construct every night. It was actually 2 single beds which we had to push together.
The other oddity (but what actually turned out to be an advantage) was the small kitchen in our room. It came with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave oven and grill, and 2 electric hobs. There were also all the utensils you would need. We weren't intending to use the kitchen, but then having discovered nothing was open on our first evening, we though we would! So it was quite handy to have. They provided us with one diswasher tab and one washing up sponge, so if you needed to wash up more than one load (it was a table top model) you then had to buy more - as they only clean you room once a week. There was a "Kaisers" just oppostite which was a handy small supermarket.
The other features in the room were the TV (usual TV channels - CNN/MTV etc mainly German speaking), and a radio/CD player.
Breakfast was what you would expect from a european hotel - bread with cold meats and cheese. Cereals and toast/croissants were also available as was fruit.
The hotel had an internet teminal in the main lobby (sorry didn't use it so couldn't tell you what they charge). There was also car parking (underground) and a laundrette for public use.
The location was good - situated in the West of the city about an hour on the S9 from Schonefeld airport (E 2.10 ticket for 2 hours). There are a number of S-bahn (Savingplatz is the nearest) and U-bahn stations near by which you will need to use if you plan on visiting the heart of Berlin. The trains are very efficient and run every few minutes. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main shopping street in Berlin. It is situated at the "designer" end of this street - so if you like your labels you will be in heaven - for everyone else it is only about a 10 minute walk to get to the cheaper shops. These are all situated around Zoo Station.
There are a large number of restuarants and bars in the area - from cuban (opposite the hotel - food starts at about E 8 for a main meal), French, Italian, indian ( you will have no shortage of places to eat!)
Overall this hotel served us well for the time we were in Berlin and it was very reasonable too!
