This Paris hotel is great. I was there for 6 days in April 2006 and stayed there with my brother. We paid about £35 a night through expedia and got 1 night free.
<> The room we had was a twin bed room and was quite big and included the usual shower and toilet. It also had a dressing table, TV and a balcony. My deciding factor for this Hotel is the Kitchenette in the room. This is something I really took advantage of. If you want to save a bit of money and cook for yourself then the kitchenette has everything you need: a sink, hob, kettle, fridge/freezer, microwave, plates and cutlery and a breakfast table. I mainly used it in the morning for breakfast and at night for summat to eat.
You get the usual amenities such as fresh towels (although you get the weeks worth all at once), soap and shampoo. There is also room cleaning service which starts about 11am so you have plenty of time to get out.
There is also an optional deposit paid service for a safe, iron and ironing board and activation of the room telephone. For phoning I recommend you take a international calling card and use the payphones right outside the hotel to make your calls back home. This will be much cheaper than using the in-room telephone.
<> The greatest thing about this Hotel is the location. It is absolutly awesome. The area is called La Defense and is where you will see some of the best looking High rise buildings in the whole of Paris. It is said to be the biggest Business District in the whole of Europe. You better take a camera.
<> The hotel is about 10 minute walk from the La Defense Metro Stn or a 3 minute bus ride to the door of the hotel. I recommend you get a Visite travel pass as this will let you travel on both the Metro and buses in the city of Paris. The walk from the station to the hotel is quite daunting at night as its so quiet. From the Metro station the main attractions are about 5-10 minutes metro ride away.
<> Round the corner from this hotel is a great little street where you will find a huge variety of Takeaways and Restaurants. There are Italian, Indian, Turkish cuisine places and various others. If you are after the usually Burger and chips there is also a 2 storey McDonalds there as well. I would recommend the Turkish Restaurant just down from McDonalds called the Istanbul. It does some great kebabs.
There is great little shopping court opposite the hotel where you will find a small french supermarket. Here you will find everything you need for cooking in your room: bread, croissants, fruit and veg, and the usual groceries. I stocked up with quite a few frozen foods such as micro chips and ready meals and stored them in the fridge in my room.
<> Great value room, Great service, awesome location in Paris, great transport links, shopping area, places to eat nearby, quiet area after business hours are over (6PM).
Very concise information and well presented. Certainly soounds inviting. Would you know how one can make a booking of weekend to the hotel for instance. Looking for a good package to send my father in law on. he's about 64 or so. cheers
