About 10 minutes walk from the CityInn hotel is the SECC Centre which holds concerts. Its shape resembled that of the Sydney Opera House. About 20 minutes walk away from the hotel is the Glasgow Science Centre which incorporates an IMAX cinema. We spent a day here which was enjoyable but expensive.
CHECKING-OUT
We checked out around lunchtime. This was quite straightforward. The drinks we imbibed at the bar and the dinner bill was added to the final bill. Our bill included some drinks which we did not order and this mistake was quickly rectified. On the final day our luggage was kept in a storeroom.

Advantages: Price, features of room, location Disadvantages: err... food is a bit bland and pricey
I think I spend far too much time in hotels, and can be quite demanding. That said, it is with pleasure I report that the CityInn in Birmingham is a hidden gem.
Location
The hotel is located in the trendy Brindley Place development just off Broad Street in Birmingham, and as such is ideally situated for pubbing, clubbing and general merriment and yet being secluded (for a city) enough for a bit of peace and quiet. Brindley Place itself is home to a variety of trendy bars and restaurants including the (in)famous Bank and various luxury apartments. It's a mainly pedestrianised area, and is easily accessible by foot bus or train from New Street station.
