The Wedding service is fantastic – the hotel has their own highly experienced team of co-ordinators who will set up your wedding reception to your personal needs. They will go through all aspects of the day and you tell them exactly what you want and they will cater for you. Table design, wines, etc.
Leisure Services are brilliant – the hotel offers guests with a membership all access to their facilities. They have a Jacuzzi, pool, steam room, gym and showers. Membership is £37.00 per month Swim only member ship is £25 per month
Meetings Services are excellent – they offer state of the art conference room. They have an Overhead projector and exquisite seating and furniture. They have a writers room beded in wooden walls and furniture and it is surrounded by paintings of Ulster writers. When you book for a conference, you are offered beverages, buffers, tea and coffee and dinner if required.
The bar is situated on the ground floor on the far right of the building if you’re coming from the lifts. And are left if you’re coming in the front door .The bar is run by Coppins Bar.
The dining area is just lovely – all tables are situated in an excellent position with plenty of room to move around. The cutlery is shining and the table clothes are as white as can be. All tables have a great view of the town and of the river Foyle. The restaurant is run by Thomson’s Restaurant. My Personal Opinion
I think its such an amazing hotel, very beautiful to look at from the outside and it is lit up at night and shines onto the river Foyle. Really class looking. I have been in this hotel numerous times and the food is lovely, on a Sunday you can get a buffet meal for a set price and it’s brilliant.
The bar is not too expensive, I know prices of most bars cause I go in them a lot over the past years and i know if price rates are good or bad, I thought this bar was quite reasonable for it being a hotel bar.
The cleanliness of the hotel – its very clean, I always ensure the cleanliness of places when I enter them, and I found everything clean, the toilets., the tables and chairs, the bar, the floors and lifts. All very nice.
The bedrooms are so nice looking, well layed out and clean. The following facilities are in the room:
Telephone with voicemail Hairdryer Trouser Press Iron Tea/Coffe Maker Fax Machine Mini Bar TV
All excellent facilities – I have not seen a lot of hotels with all these facilities in place. Well Impressed.
I would highly recommend this hotel to any tourist. Its got a great rate, and has ongoing price deals throughout the year so make use of them. You will be a happy camper staying in this gorgeous hotel who also uses sun as their energy supply.
The staff are very friendly and are there for all your needs.
I enjoyed my stay and I hope you enjoy yours if you do stay

History

Hastings Hotels own this hotel; along with 5 other Northern Irish hotels. The hotel group is owned by Doctor William Hastings who lives with his delightful wife Joy on Simmy Island, circa 25-minutes drive from the Slieve Donard hotel, with the town of St Patrick en route. Some of my industry colleagues and I were fortunate enough to be invited to their home for dinner before we went on to the hotel for drinks and overnight.
The Slieve Donard Hotel was purchased in 1972 together with 5 other Railway hotels, including the Midland in Belfast, the Great Northern in Rostrevor, the Northern Counties in Portrush and the CityHotel in Derry. At that time £1million was paid for all six hotels, which - believe me - by today's prices is an absolute snip! Still, £1 Million in 1972 would be an awful lot more money today!
I love...

...This review is on the Travel Lodge HotelDerry.
Location
The location of this hotel is perfact for any traveller. It is situated in the heart of the city. 3 min walk from the harbour, and 5 minute walk from the two main shopping centres.
2 of the most popular bars in derry are right beside the hotel. Strand bar is directly across the street from the lodge and the Ice warf run by JD Whetherspoon is directly under the hotel. Not to mention Quayside shopping centre and cinema next door also.
Quayside is the local tesco with a 3 barain shops outside and alot more.
Excellent Location.

...I recently stayed in the Radisson roe resort in Limavady, Northern Ireland. The hotel itself is primarily aimed towards golfers, with it' own golf course, but I went as I know the Radisson is a good hotel chain & also the spa facilities looked gorgeous.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town of Limavady, about 20 miles from the city of Derry, & about 60 miles from Belfast. It is located beside the end of the new Limavady bypass, so is easy to find. It is also signposted well from the town itself.
The hotel is located along a windy long road, which takes you past the golf course. The hotel itself is a collection of buildings all enclosed in a walled garden. The hotel complex consists of the actual hotel, the spa building, a restaurant, a grill bar and the gold facilities. The hotel itself is massive with a bar...
