Our hostel near the main train station is the perfect starting-off point for exploring Munich and enjoying its indigenous warmth and good cheer. Our Munich team is always happy to show you the way to famous local sites like Marienplatz, the Viktualienmarkt, the English Gardens and the Oktoberfest meadows ? all of which are quickly and easily reached from our house. Or simply head directly across the street for dinner at a cosy, little Munich restaurant, perfect for a typical Bavarian evening. And don?t forget to let the Free Walking Tour guides show you around the city, sharing their insider tips and advice along they way ? they?ll even pick you up directly at the hostel. Some great highlights await you in the house as well: enjoy views over Munich from the terrace, socialize with your friends in the on-site bar and meet backpackers from around the world in the hostel kitchen. Advantages: Lots to see and do Disadvantages: None
...journey on the train. On my last visit I purchased a four-day pass, which covered my journey to and from the airport plus unlimited use of the underground system in the city zone as well as my travel each morning to work, which is about half an hours ride out of Munich into ‘Zone 2’ of the train system. This four day pass covering Zones 1 and 2 only cost 14.80 euro (about 9.60GBP), the train staff all seemed to speak English, timetables are easy to understand and every single train was always on time. Our transport system certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
Finding a hotel to stay in Munich couldn’t be easier as there’s a great selection to choose from, many you’ll find on the internet or you could contact the tourist information in Munich who I’m sure you’ll find to be English speaking and most helpful and efficient.

Advantages: good price, good comfort Disadvantages: breakfast to expensive
...Travelling to Munich is well worth it. The city offers plenty of sights and other interesting things. You won't be able to see everything in only one day so you better stay an couple of nights.
As usual, hotel rooms are very expensive. But I can tell you a real good hotel for little money:
Stay at the ETAP Hotels. Prices vary from about 20 to 25 pounds per night excluding breakfast. Rooms look all the same, there's TV, toilet, shower and washing basin. You open your door with a code number and not a key.
There are two ETAP Hotels easy to be reached using public transport. One is in Munich East - take the underground train no. 1 to St. Querin Platz. The other is in the north of the city in Garching. Take the underground train no. 6 to Garching terminus.
I recommend to reserve the rooms in advance....

Advantages: More than Oktoberfest and Lederhosen to be found Disadvantages: Expensive, the weather - depending on the time of the year of your trip
...and by Taxi. S-Bahn and bus take about 45 minutes and are about 10 Euro per person, but there possible discounts for more people using the S-Bahn (Group Ticket). A taxi will be about 40 to 50 Euro, depending on where and when to go (traffic jams are a standard at Munich) for all people who fit in :-)).
-by railway:
Munich Main Station is located right in the middle of the city. It's not a very representative and comfortable place to spend more time as necessary, but as it's in the middle of the city of Munich it's a good place to start exploring the attractions of Munich. There are some hotels right next to the station but you should have a good look and a talk to the doorman before checking in, as some are the type 'pre paid and room rentable hourly' (I think you got what kind of hotel these ones are like).

Munich isn't different to all...
