When booking a hotel in London for the first time, it's hard to know where to book.
We booked this one knowing it was close to the Tate and also to Westminster (the clue was in the name).
We arrived on a Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised that the street outside looked very safe and that parking was free. Also no congestion charge!
On arrival, our bags were taken and after check in the porter showed us our room. It was a fair size and had a nice bathroom. There was a dvd player, LCD TV, desk with a leather chair and a very large double bed. The bathrooms consisted of both bath and shower and the toiletries were made by the White Company - a decent brand! The hotel room was air conditions with a control ont eh wall to change the setting. Also there was a mini-bar, although a little bit on the pricy side!
After settling in, we walked out of the hotel to a taxi which was waiting outside and took us a very whort ride to leicester square for dinner.
The following morning, we did not partake in breakfast as we were staying room only. We had a day of sightseeeing and then returned to our room to prepare for dinner. We went down to the hotel bar before going out. We had a bottle of wine which came in at 16.75 and before leaving I had a champagne cocktail which was a treat at 12 pounds.
We went out to dinner and to my surprise, my partner proposed. We were eating in Mayfair and asked our taxi driver to drop us some way before we reached the hotel so we could walk along the river. It was very enjoyable and very romantic!
When we reached the hotel, we went tothe bar and had some drinks. The drinks were on the house due to our celebration - the staff joined in!!
Over the whole weekend, the staff were excellent and catered to our every need. We stayed for a very reasonable price of 157 pounds for both nights which I think was a special offer as the prices now seem to be much higher - but well worth the money.

You have made this sound as good place to stay, though a bit more
information would be helpful.

Welcome to Ciao and congratulations on your marriage. Good hotels in London are hard to find so I am sure this recommendation will be invaluable for many. In general I would like to see a little more in a review but yours was very well written and had a strong personal touch. As a footnote I know this hotel only from eating but as I have worked in the area I would advise any would be guests that if they turn right and walk straight crossing Horeseferry Road they will after about 5 minutes reach The Speaker, an excellent real ale pub with a range of unusual spirits and good home cooked food. Two minutes beyond the pub you reach Strutton Ground which is a market street lined with good cheap cafes, ideal for a weekday breakfast.
