They advertise on their website and Teletext with offers that seem too good to be true (Gibraltar for 5 nights in a 4 star hotel for only £249, for example) but the actual prices you pay are not a lot different. It varies week-to-week, of course, but I was expecting there to be a big difference (like you get with so many other "offers").
The only things that we missed out on were the "free" guide book and the hotel transfers. Well, the taxi cost £5 each way from and to the airport and we picked up a guide book in town for £3!
We stayed at the Rock Hotel, which is a 4 star, and flew with GB Airways (British Airways) and were very impressed, overall with the quality and comfort of the holiday.
The holiday was organised via email and finally booked and paid for over the phone. City Vacations were a fairly quick with email responses and it was useful just having to pay for the holiday over the phone and not have to discuss everything at once.
Overall the service was good (but not outstanding) but the price difference made up for everything.
Advantages: cheap, handy and clean Disadvantages: grumpy receptionist
The big apple hostel, couldn't ask for anything better. Stay here and you have to eat at Blimpies next door. The hostel is just your average youth hostel with beds, showers and not much else. Right next to times Square and in the heart of all the big buildings. It is cheap $10 a night - I think, central and comfy. New York itself is a beautiful city that you have to visit at least once. I did it as a student and it was easily affordable, with the help of my student loan. I would recommend trying to book, which you can do over the internet if cannot get this place go for the bananna hostel or some thing like that. Finding the place can be slightly difficult so try and get a taxi driver that looks as though he at least remotely has a clue about the city. I went in Easter vacation and that was perfect time. got some snow, sun and rain in ...
Advantages: Scope for IT and higher education immense. Disadvantages: Overcrowding & traffic jams.
We had been to Bangalore in September'07 to spend a short vacation with our daughter & son-in-law.
It is a booming metropolis with IT and sprawling with industrial activities as well. The city is dotted with plenty of shopping malls, international standard Hotels, amusement parks etc.,It is a paradise for jobseekers and is tending to become a hub for international air travel.Other big cities like Chennai,Hyderabad etc., and places of tourist interest like Ooty,Mysore,Nilgiris,Coorg are easily reachable.Though the city is darting ahead with the fast developing modern world, the charm of 'Garden City' is lost.
Bangalore is well connected by Air and Rail to all the major cities in India though better Airport & Railstation is required.
A new Airport with international standards has opened up recently. It is comparable with any superior Airport ...

Advantages: near malls and MRT station, within the Ortigas business complex Disadvantages: none
which has a view of the city. The other wing overlooks the garden.
During our short vacation, the kids had a blast in the pool while my husband and I spent a few hours getting a full-body massage at Chi?. Afterwards, we had dinner at Heat, a buffet restaurant at the ground floor of the hotel which serves mouth-watering international cuisines comprising of lobsters, prawns, crabs, salmon, oysters, sushi, roasted meat, sashimi, different kinds of noodles, and a lot more. The dessert bar is also to die for. Heat, however, could be quite crowded and noisy especially during lunch coz it is a favorite hangout of executives working within the Ortigas complex. Summer Palace, a fine-dining Chinese restaurant, is a favorite of our guests because of the super-delicious food and large serving. On my part, I like Paparazzi, an Italian pizza place ...
