Advantages: Lots of fun, loads to do, easy to get to other places Disadvantages: Can be very dangerous
...I used to live in Mexico city. There are a couple of things that all travellers there should know. For a start, never take a taxi off the street. Get your hotel to call you a sitio taxi. Your name and destination are then recorded. This is important because in Mexico City there are many kidnappings, muggings and murders. You will be targeted if you don't look latino.
If for some reason you have to get in a taxi off the street there are a couple of things that you can do to protect yourself. The first is to make sure the license plate starts with an 'L'or an 'S' if it doesn't it probably means that the taxi is stolen and that the person driving it is in a crime ring which mugs passengers. Advantages: its a must to have some basic spanish to get yourself around Disadvantages: flour tortillas, refried beans and salsa for breakfast, lunch, dinner and SNACKS!!!
...Mexico City is fast and furious and full of history. the architecture and art displayed all over the city is stunning. Don't be put off visiting and spending time there by other peoples oppinions or the warnings in the guide books, i found the exact opposite in fact. I think the mexicans realise that tourism will keep their economy alive and as a result they can't help you enough! before you leave you must cram yourself into a beetle taxi just to realise how close the edge really is!! There are also several temple cities around. i visited Teotihuacan, which is thought to have been the first. They have stunningly rebuilt most of the city and you can climb the Pyramids which afford you amazing veiwsand photo oppourtunities. There are however some untouched 'freshly' excavated areas which i found more intruiging. The history of the country...

This was my work placement year of my degree course and involved me being trained as a manager in a downtown hotel. I returned about a year ago, and have yet to settle back into British life. Things are very dull, and generally unfriendly over here compared to my experiences in Dallas, and therefore I will return permanently as soon as possible.

Dallas is the biggest and flashiest, and the most rich and prosperous of all the Texas cities. Dallas is of course located just 30 miles from Fort Worth in the north of Texas. The two cities are gradually expanding closer and closer together. Even though both cities are joined politically into a gigantic urban area known as the Metroplex, they are two very different cities...
