Having used Guerlain's Shalimar for a number of years already, I was surprised (and a bit shocked) when I received Champs-Elysees for Valentine's Day. As it turned out, it's a pretty fragrance that I do like to wear during the day. It has a flowery headnote, but also comes over with a "woody" touch. It contains mimosa leaf and mimosa flower, almond flower, rose petal, hibiscus seed and almond wood. It's not one of those strong floral fragrances that make you gasp for air when someone wearing it passes by you. It's more subtle than that and I find it quite pleasant and have gotten many compliments on it. ...
Advantages: Great place to start your trip Disadvantages: Need good walking shoes and a pack of plasters
It has got to be said the ChampsElysees has to be the best Street in the World! I have just come back from an absolutely fantastic time spent on a weekend in Paris - one of the best parts of my trip there was looking down the ChampsElysees from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Something I will never forget - and will treasure the photo I took of that view! The view is absolutely fantastic - a birds eye view of not only the ChampsElysees but of the whole of Paris strectching over to the Effiel Tower.
It certainly is a must-see when visiting Paris. Once you pull yourself away from the dizzy heights of the Arc de Triomphe - be prepared to shop til you drop on the ChampsElysees - and remember to pick your lower jaw up off the floor at the magnificant shops that are there to be seen and explored - everything you could want from ...
Advantages: Lovely food, attentive staff, very classy for a special occasion Disadvantages: You need to book, they allow smoking, not very environmetally aware
Introduction

Before I begin I'd just like to point out that this review is strictly on the afternoon teas at Claridges and not on any other aspect of the hotel.
'Im getting married in the morning, ding dong the bells are goanna chime' ok Im not actually getting married tomorrow but on the 16th of September this year I will be a Mrs.
Why is that relevant to Claridges I hear you ask? Well it's not strictly but the reason I ended up there last Friday for afternoon tea with my best friend was all wedding related.
Just to give you a brief why, where etc, I have four bridesmaids, 2 of them are my sisters and 2 of them are my best friend and her little sis, who is also my youngest sister's best friend. We aren't very adventurous in my family :)
My head bridesmaid (best friend of 25 years) has done such a lot ...
