Advantages: The easy internet connection, room was very nice Disadvantages: Had to walk for a while to get to the room
This review of the hotel will be a bit limited as I only stayed there for one night in April 2007. I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning so this is merely my impression of the room and check in/check out.
I went to Gothenburg on a short company trip in April 2007. I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. The taxis seem to operate on fixed prizes and I think I paid about 320 SEK (about 47 $) for the drive. At least it contained some excitement as the driver came up to 160 km/h (about 100 mph) on the highway into town?in a Volvo of course.
The check in was fast and then I went looking for my room?257 I think it was. To avoid strangers getting in one must use the room key to open the elevator. The rooms are spread out in a big square with an atrium in the middle. My room was of course located on the far side ...
Advantages: First class service, spacious rooms, clean and tidy Disadvantages: Perhaps not so family-friendly
This is the largest hotel in the city of Gothenburg. Don't expect a hotel the size of the Waldorf Astoria in New York or the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It's a little more compact than that, however, it is a wonderful hotel that I would recommend to anyone visiting Gothenburg.
The hotel is in a nice area of the city and there is a theme park practically on your doorstep. The hotel is easily identifiable from most parts of the city with its two towers.
As you enter the hotel it is clear that you have paid for a little bit of class. The lobby is huge and the greeting you receive from your hosts will leave a very good impression. The people at Gothia Towers are well trained to be very helpful and they execute the hotel ethos with aplomb. And I am not just referring to the reception staff. The bar staff, waiters, waitresses, room ...
Advantages: Location, price, clean rooms, good equipment levels. Disadvantages: Limited choice of breakfast, no view from the room window
Stayed at the ClarionHotel & Suites Selby for a week, it was very conveniently situated 100yds from a sub way station which is only a couple of stops from downtown Toronto. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants & shops should you decide to stay locally. It was built in the late 19th century & Ernest Hemmingway stayed there with his wife in the 1920s. The hotel still has that period look about it which won't appeal to everyone. Our room was situated in the basement & had been recently refurbished, the room was clean & quite well equipped with en-suite bathroom with shower/bath. Other facilities include air conditioning, telephone, comforatble queen size bed, iron & iron board, multi channel TV, sitting chairs, wi-fi, hair dryer & ample drawer & wardrobe space. The only thing missing was a view, our window looked onto a part external ...
