Smart, stylish, perfectly delicious stay!

Advantages: great views, excellent breakfast, clean friendly top class hotel, great location
Disadvantages: Can be a little busy, if that's really that bad!

The Clarion Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden is one of the largest in the city. Situated on Södermalm (the South Island) it's in a busy, trendy location just around the corner from all manner of bars and restaurants, and is literally across the road from Skanstull tube station which will take you to the central station and the city centre in around fifteen minutes. It's very easy to find, signposted from the station, and illuminated from the outside by fetching red and blue lights of an evening. It's a four star hotel, and prices are according. Prices vary considerably depending on the season and the days (nights) you wish to stay, so it's worth checking different dates if you can be flexible - you can pick up quite a bargain! Of the price ranges through the week we stayed there we averaged 1000 - 1500 SEK a night (approx. £70 - £110 ...

Review of Clarion Hotel, Stockholm

Central Stockholm Hostel

Advantages: Cheap, Centrally located, Free internet,
Disadvantages: underground

I stayed here in September for 3 nights and this is my opinions of this hostel. Location We arrived into Stockholm at around 2pm from a train from Oslo. The hostel is within easy walking distance of the main train station. Although it is only a five or tem minute walk from the train station the directions we recieved from hostelworld were not the most clear and we ended up going the long way round to get to the hostel. The hostel is located just off a busy shopping street and from the train station you need to go down a couple of levels of roads to get to the main street. However things are a bit more complex if arriving by ferry or air and it is avisable to simply get a taxi from either to the main train station or the hostel itself. Our welcome We arrived at the hostel and our welcome was one of the most pleasant ...

Review of City Lodge, Stockholm

'Stockholm in a pint glass'

Advantages: 'Pre-parties', 'Norrlands Guld' and superb transport links.
Disadvantages: High alcohol prices, weak beer and strict bouncers.

Overview? I was recently invited to visit a friend in Stockholm, who claimed to be 'researching' land-use in the city as part of his final year dissertation. As you can imagine, this turned out to be more of a cultural drinking experience, rather than visiting Stockholm as a tourist! For those of you who are that way inclined, here follows my experience of Stockholm through the eyes of a pint glass. Stockholm - A Brief Introduction? Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, and also considered to be the capital of Scandinavia. The city was built in the 13th century around Lake Mälaren, allowing the taxation of merchant vessels going in and out of the lake. It is built across 14 islands and is sometimes known as the 'Venice of the North'. Stockholm is renowned for its clean drinking water along with freedom of its waterways ...
