Advantages: Next to metro station Disadvantages: Customer service and location in Omonia Square - not a pleasant area
Stayed here on 2 different occasions recently and both bad experiences with Acropol Hotel.

Location: Omonia square. Not a good area. Many police patroling the area at night as there are many drug dealers in this area. I witnessed a big fight on the street from my room and the police came within 5 minutes. However, the metro station is in front of the hotel so it is convenient to get to other parts of Athens. Omonia station is a big station which serves a few major lines.
Staff: Most staff were unfriendly. Check in was slow and staff were rude. Most of the time there were 2 staff for check in. One female and one male. The female receptionist was very rude. The first time I stayed there, I wanted a room on higher floor as I heard rooms on lower floors are badly affected by noises from the streets. When I approached her for a request to switch my room, she asked me rudely: what's your problem? She clearly does not know what customer service mean and she is one of the major reason I will not choose to stay in Acropol hotel again.
Rooms: Spacious and beds are comfortable. There is no tea/coffee making facility but this is common in most Greece hotels. There is free WiFi in your room. Rooms are also brightly lit. Hairdryer is provided in the bathroom.
Hot breakfast was provided in our room rate. There was a wide selection.
Some tips: Omonia square is the 2nd main square in Athens. Zara store is located here. To get to the nearest entrance of the Omonia metro station from the hotel, exit the hotel and turn right. The entrance is on your left within a minute's walk. There is also a well-known department store (Hondos Centre) across the road.
If you have to go out at night, walk in groups. Shops in Plaka area (old town of Athens) close around 9 - 10pm. Opening hours of shops in Greece (also Athens) vary greatly so it's best to check before going.
