because of its closeness to central station, i will frequently cut through clayton sqaure on my visits to musiczone (best shop in the city). the "square" itself is a rather dull and unispired collection of shops, however it does house the delightful "cookie jar". also present is the virgin megastore, which i am not a great fan of as it overcharges pathetically (£19 for "melloncollie and the infinite sadness" by the smashing pumpkins!! i got it in a hmv sale for £10, and even now its only £14 there). if you want to get cheaper cds, go to music zone or hmv, both vastly superior to virgin IMHO. also in clayton sqaure is a stupid mobile phone shop type thingy. because i despise those things, i enjoy feeling superior to the foolish minions spending ridiculous amounts of money on having a red phone cover instead of a blue one. ha ha. overall, clayton square is the best short cut youll ever use. the shops in it may provide a minor diversion, but i tend to walk through them.

I feel that this opinion is somewhat unfair, because the author has only taken into account two of the many shops when rating the general price level. He neglects to mention the fantastic offers available in the clothes shops such as Internatiolnale and Bay Trading - gorgeous tops from £3, you can't go wrong!! And the computer console store - Game - is possibly the cheapest I've experienced, so, please, don't be so cruel!! x
