Advantages: It is one of the most impressive museums in the world and its free. Disadvantages: It is impossible to see everything in a day.
...exhibition on in the Great Court Gallery and at the moment (until 26 August 2001) it is Cleopatra of Egypt: From History to Myth. A charge is made for these special exhibitions and the Cleopatra one costs £7. I went to a private viewing while attending a conference but I can’t honestly say that it would be worth the money to see it. I know quite a lot about Cleopatra anyway and it is difficult to know if that made it less interesting for me. The only thing I would recommend on this exhibition and others that are charged is that you check it out on COMPASS before you decide to view it. The COMPASS virtual tour is a good representation of what is there.

I think the British Museum is well worth a visit – indeed lots of visits. But the visit will be even better if you check out the events and find something...

Advantages: It’s gorgeous!! Disadvantages: Can’t think of any!!
...! :)
On the Pamukkale sight, there is a tourist area with shops and a museum and a thermal pool, and also there’s the Necropolis, almost like a mini Ephesus. We walked around here for about 30 minutes in the morning when we first got there, it’s pretty cool, again, a mass of ruins, but not as good as Ephesus. The museum is free, although I don’t know what it’s like because we didn’t have time to go in.
One of the best bits is Cleopatra’s Pool; this is a pool of natural thermal water from springs which have come out of the ground, and is mineral rich and also has a few gases thrown in for good measure. I think it’s meant to be healing too, so lots of people like to bathe in it. This is one thing which will not be included in the price of your guided tour, it costs an extra 16 Million Turkish Lira, which is about £6.40. It’s well worth it though...

...We took a 2 week holiday in Kos last May (2000)
We stayed in Kardamena. In short, it was the best holiday we've ever had! We booked it through Co-Op Travelcare and paid £270 each (inc insurance). The tour operator was Kosmar and we stayed at the Cleopatra Apartments.
Kardamena is a lovely resort. It has a good mixture of everything, restaurants, sports, bars, clubs (only a few and they have to shut their doors at 12.00am to keep music noise in!) and almost guaranteed weather.
My partner and I enjoyed our fortnight in Kos so much that we have booked to go back this May to the same apartment with some friends!
We found an excellent curry house whilst out there, I think it was called The Taj Mahal, the dishes were very authentic and we ate there on around 6 days of our 2 week hol!! (we do like curries, you see...)
The local...

This film is mesmerising. It is intimate, dramatic and full of emotion and pathos.
When Elizabeth Taylor was asked to take the part of Cleopatra she said "yes, for one million dollars"; to everyones amazement, the studio agreed. The original film... more
