...would go about getting out! We did have to leave the keys on reception (so they could move the car if required - which they did as it wasn't in the same place when we returned). For us the car park wasn't too much of a problem as we didn't use the car for the break, however it was hard work getting in the small space!
Staff were friendly on arrival and we were seen to our room quickly.
Location
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of York. It is right near the York Dungeons, only 10minutes walk from York Minster. We visited most of the main areas of interest on York and everywhere was close to the hotel. Because we came at Christmas we were also right near a temporary ice rink, which was situated only a few minutes from the hotel.
The Room

Advantages: Great Location, Clean and Friendly Staff Disadvantages: Views from hotel itself not great, no free wi fi
...My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to New York and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan.
Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington.
If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay.

The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here.
When we checked in...

A wine trader by the name of William Vick, who had made his fortune in Bristol, died in that year, leaving £1000 in trust, intending that when it had grown to £10,000 it would fund a stone bridge, crossing the Avon Gorge from Clifton Down to Leigh Woods.
The mystery is quite why Mr Vicks should want to see such crossing built...

In most major UK cities I now have a favourite hotel, and as such the opportunities for new reviews are drying up. In London, however, I continue to try one different hotel after another, because none of them particularly fill me with excitement. London... more
