The clothes show live-2004

Advantages: see celebs and free gifts!
Disadvantages: its only on for 5 days a year!

...coach to go to the clothes show live in Birmingham NEC on Tuesday 7th of December, do you want to go?' I wasn't quite sure but I gave it a go!! I paid £26.50 for the day and bus fares there and back. Which I didn’t think was too bad! We left school at 9:15 am and got there around 12:00 after stopping for a refreshment break half way there! With aching legs we walked down to the massive NEC. We were told we would meet at 2:00pm to go to the catwalk. ...
...lost!!) this was the actual clothes bit!! There were all different clothes items on show and a mini catwalk at the end! I didn’t find this one too interesting, so I moved on!!! Then there was THE PURPLE ZONE which was selling fashion, trendy and jeans wear. I didn’t actually buy any clothing! They had makes like Punkyfish, playboy, withit and MTV hits was there doing some karaoke!! Last came THE YELLOW ZONE and for some strange reason there were ...

The fashion event of the year

Disadvantages: Expensive but I don't mind!!

The Clothes show live NEC Birmingham I am in Year nine at my school and hoping to take textiles for my GCSEs. The year 10’s and11s were going on a trip to go to the Birmingham Clothes show live but there were spaces left for year nines interested in textiles and fashion, and my friends and me were invited to go. I wasn’t quite sure whether I wanted to go or not but I decided to go because all my friends were going. We had to pay £26:50 for the bus ...

Clothes Show Live 2007 (NEC)

Advantages: Plenty of makeup, fashion and goodie bags!
Disadvantages: Not enough shoes or "normal" stuff

I visted the Clothes Show exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham yesterday. I have to say I was rather dissapointed. I have been previously (2004) and it was absolutely brilliant. This year however the standards of stalls was appauling! The fashion show (10:00 show) was brilliant. Lots of scantally clad men and women "dancers" as they were called and plenty to keep you entertained. If only a bit short. Caprice made an appearance showing off her underwear ...
...with many selling the same clothes under different labels. There were however some bargains to be had especially the goodie bag on the Gemma Kidd make-up stand (£10 for £40 worth of stuff - can't say better than that!). A few other goodie bags were available around the show so these were worth £2 (Eve Magazine + Ruby & Millie Mascara), £5 or £10 for what you got. The shoes were extremely disapointing as there were not many "normal" shoes. Many starnge ...

Advantages: wonderful clothes that are imaginative and inpiring
Disadvantages: tacky clothes stalls

i went to the clothes show this year with high expectations too. i have never been before and found the whole experience rather bazzar. the standards of the stools where very simular to those in Camdem market with much of of the same stock. the mini catwalks were not to be missed, the creative talet around england is immence. and i congratulate those who put tyeir designs forward. the clothes show its self was fantastic and the dancing was awe ...

weekend break

Advantages: nice food, ambience
Disadvantages: rooms could be better

I recently stayed here on the 6/12/2008 as I was going to the clothes show. I was with my sister and niece. I had a single room and they had a twin. The main body of the hotel is nice as well as the outside. What is not shown on the website is that the rooms aren't up to what is shown on the website. We had nice food and it's a warm hotel. The meals included were lovely and service too. If they would bring the rooms up to standard as shown on the website there wouldn't be a problem. There is also a prefab building at the back of the hotel too for extra rooms. I wondered if I was reading about the same hotel when looking at similar reviews but it is. when we arrived we had to go down a darkened stairway to the hotel in which someone could have fallen down on, only to find a pathway which was much easier with luggage the next morning. I ...

Review of The Chace Hotel, Coventry

excellent venue

Advantages: very organised, easy to find
Disadvantages: expensive food and drink

Birmingham NEC is probably the nearest (half decent) venues near me. When I say the nearest it's still four hours drive away. That's what I get for living out in the sticks. I have lost count of the amount of times I have been to Birmingham NEC so I shall just list some of the times I can remember. Motorshow 2000 Max Power show 2000 Autosport show 2000 Metallica (some years ago) Clothes Show 1998 So what's it like? Well, big, I suppose, big compared to anywhere in Cornwall anyway. I have always found every show that I've been to very organised. So the real test - the toilet queue. Obviously every show is different. No queue at all for the Max Power or Autosport show because it was all men there and hardly any women. Result - men having to queue for a change!!! Bonus. Metallica, I had to queue for about twenty ...

TOO MUCH HYPE AND NOT ENOUGH SHOPPING

Advantages: All in opinion
Disadvantages: All in opinion

I’ve lived in London all my life and over the years I have shopped in lots of areas and boroughs. Kings Road (Chelsea) is a well-respected area and although there are a lot of shops it is not an ideal place to go shopping. Yes, its nice and a very fashionable place to be seen in but unless you are prepared to pay ludicrous prices then stay away. Most of the shops are all designer cloths and most of the shops are empty – Why? – The simple reason is that prices are sky high and most of the clothes on show are not your everyday clothes you would wear. Have you seen any of Vivienne Westwood’s designer cloths? Horrid and crazy and expect to pay £1000 and above. You can’t exactly call that a good shopping area. The only normal department store is John Lewis – the rest is just for the rich and famous ...
