In the summer of 1999 tricia24 and i headed off to Kavos, Corfu for an 18 -30's girly holiday.
We were 19 and wanted a fun holiday and to meet lots of young people so 18-30's seemed the way to go!
18-30's is a package holiday aimed a young people, the price includes flights and accommodation and transfers. If I remember rightly the holiday cost us around £300/£400 each
for 2 weeks.
When flying with 18-30's style holidays you will find the flights will be night flights. I remember quite clearly arriving in the early hours of the morning being bundled on the coach and dropped of at the side of the road, we were told that a rep would be along shortly to book us in to our rooms, an hour later and the reap arrive, by the time we were booked in it was around 4am.
Welcome Meetings:
The next day we where rudely awakened by our rep banging on the door at 9am. The reason behind this was for the welcome meeting, She would not take no for an answer and we were practically dragged from our beds to the down stairs bar. Once their we were give free shots of alcohol, just what you need for breakfast!
We then sat and listed for an hour while our rep tried to promote and sell us lots of trips.
We where lucky that we had the year previous been on a similar holiday with "Club Freestyle" because of this we realized that some off the deals were need as they first seem.
At first they try and sell you a package deal all the trips for a bargain price, we decided that we didn't want to do all the trips and selected a few we thought were good value.
We did find the reps were a bit funny with those that did not buy all the trips, but fortunately this did not bother us.
Accommodation:
Be warned the accommodation on such holidays is very basic, we had two single beds and a wardrobe, we were also supposed to be in self catering accommodation, this consisted of two hobs one sauce pan, a couple of bowls and no cutlery. We did not really intend to cook much anyway, but it still should have been supplied.
The bathroom was not nice, the shower was hand held and was wide open in the bathroom with no curtain, there was just a hole in the floor for the water to drain through, as a result every time we had a shower the bathroom flooded. The toilet was a pain, because we were in Greece you are not allowed to flush toilet paper so it all had to go in a bucket.
Excursions:
1/ FREE BAR CRAWLS: This I highly recommend, firstly it’s free! And second it’s a great opportunity to check out the best bars and drink lots of free shots! Of course there are usually lots of crazy drinking games, but they are easily avoidable.
2/ BOOZE CRUISE: Some people like this trip loads, personally I am not a big fan! The idea is basically getting drunk on a boat. You are given lots of free Sangria, and then when you are half way out to sea they stop the bots and encourage people to dive for bottles of Champagne. I’m sure that this is not safe! With this particular Cruse we were taken to a small beach were we off loaded for a while and then buddle back on! I am not good on boats and felt ill the whole trip!
3/ 70’s NIGHT: Which actually turned out to be the Reps cabaret show, and a very disappointing one at that! It also included a free BBQ and free drinks all night, the drink was cheap local beer and gross local wine, the BBQ was awful, I had no idea what the meat was that I ate, and their was no veggie option.
4/ BEACH PARTY: My memory is a little hazy about this night; I think it basically consisted off drinking games. I know that I took part in one were I had to down Champagne spin around lot’s, then run to the sun beds and jump on a rep in sexual position, down Champagne and run back. Needless to say I ended in a heap on the floor!
5/ STAG AND HEN NIGHT: This was actually really good; all the girls were taken to a cocktail bar and given free cocktails! At first it was a half and hour wait for one drink, but then we decided to get cheeky and we ordered 25 Sex on the Beach, and we got them! Trough out our time in the cocktail bar, if any men tried to pass we had steal their boxer shorts and keep them! 65 pairs of boxers in 2 hours! Pretty impressive! While us ladies were being pumped full of cocktails the men were taken to a bar fed beer and watched porno! Before we left to reunite with the boys we were each given a playing card and told to find the man who had the matching card. Little did we know that the boys had been given a whole pack each!! Was a great evening and lots of fun!
All in all it was a good holiday!! But I will leave with some pros and cons of 18 – 30’s holidays!!
PROS’S: Lot’s of fun games, lots of drinking, evening excursions! Mad and crazy.
CON’S: No day excursions, pressure to buy trips, a bit in yer face!

I think im actually qiute glad that me n my mate dint take up the chance last year of going on a 18-30!! sounds like some good trips out though! Rach xx
