i have been to zante for the past two years, once in early sept and once in late july.. for anyone thinkin of going i strongly recommend goin in july, its the height of season and there is so much more going on. we stayed at the marianna apartments. first time we went we were lucky as we stayed in the new apartments which were really nice with no faults. second time we stayed in the older ones which were again satisfactory.. you cant expect much from your accommendation on an 18-30 holiday they are really really basic, the pool area was clean and always buzzing. The resort it self is wicked. most, if not all hotels/apartments are located along the main strip which is fantastic as no one wants to walk miles home after a night out. when walking down the strip be carefull of "death" corner (as we called it).. oposite the crazy golf you cant miss it.. cars a literally going in every direction possible and they dont stop!! also be carefull of the greek kids they are out in force in the evenings and are out for everything they can get so make sure you hold onto your bags/valuables tightly
The excursions 18-30 have to offer are great. the booze cruise is unmisable as you get to see so much more of zante then just the boozers!!!, make sure you go on the trip to st nick's bay... this is the only beach you can do watersports on. which is a shame but with 18-30 you do get discounts on the activities down there so make sure you get out of bed for this trip. The caberet night was a bit of a disappointment we had to wait till 10pm for our food as there was at least 1000 ppl in the room.. maybe more... the night did improve tho when the male reps (and female) got there kit off on stage!!
As for the bars, all fantastic, make sure you take note on how much fishbowls are in each place as we paid 20 euros for one in one bar and 12 euros with a free shot each ( there were six of us) in another, (sorry cant remember the names of them). alcohol itself is quite expensive so make sure you take full advantage of the free bars 18-30 have to offer! rescues club is brilliant - dont miss rat pack night!!, coyote bar - has the dentist chair again unmisable! my fav bar would be cherry bay right at the end of the strip, backs off onto the beach! proper cheese but a proper laugh at the end of the evening.
Overall i didnt find much wrong with zante, reps are awesome always there to help. resort clean and welcoming.. apart from lagana bay tried to avoid that and kept round the pool not the cleanest of beaches! also watch out for the water, gave me a very dodgy stomach and i was carefull! dont forget the ice in your drink will be dodgy too. apart from at the marianna, they dont use the dodgy water. Hubby and I went on an 18-30s holiday to Lagana - not out of choice, it was a last minute booking. It was awful, they tried to make us go on these stupid exursions. In the end we agreed to pay £35 to go on a pub crawl where they took us to the most overpriced bars. While I went on a similar holiday in Gran Canaria when I was 18 and single (which I loved), I found that at 20 and in a couple it was intolerable! But we all like different things.
