As we had a bad start to 2006 me and my boyfriend decided that we needed a hoilday, so after searching around we got a cheap deal to Marmais, staying in a 4 star hotel called Club Antique Palace.

LOCATION

Club Antique Palace is around 60 miles from Dalaman airport and is around 2km from Marmais beach and the beachfront nightlife.
There is a bus which stops right outside the hotel with regular bus services which takes you to the beach, the town centre and even Icmeler.

THE HOTEL

The hotel itself is very large, with 3 blocks, 54 rooms and 133 apartments.
You can see the hotel as you are on the bus, as it is very tall.
The entrance to the hotel is very large but inside feels very dark, this might be because of the colours, brown and gold but it looks and feels friendly and welcoming.
The entrance looks very nice, as there are big steps leading into the entrance.
Inside the hotel it has marble floors, a large reception/lobby area with several small glass table's with plenty of seating. There is also a television and a bar which is open most of the time.

There are four lifts which can fit around 5 people in them, so there is easy access to all five floors. You can tell the building is fairly new because it has a new feel and smell to the hotel.

THE ROOMS

The rooms are very spacious, each having it's own bathroom only with a shower, no bath and air-conditioning which was a big help as it was very hot.
The decor in my room was nice, plain but nice. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of my room, the bedding was clean and comfortable which meant we got a good night sleep everynight.
In my room we had twin beds,a small dressing table and a small balcony, my room was on the second floor looking out over the side of the hotel, my view was nice, from our window we could see the large swimming pool
As I said above the bathroom only had a shower no bath but it was a good size bathroom with plenty of towels but their was no toiletries supplied. We also had a small television, a telephone which we never used and a hairdryer.we had everything we needed.

Club Antique Palace offer's single, double (1 double bed) and twin (2 single beds) bedrooms. They also offer family rooms for three or four people, these are normally either twin or double rooms with extra child or sofa beds.

FACILITIES

I was very impressed with the facilities offered by Club Antique Palace. There is a mini aqua park on the complex, two very large swimming pools, a kids club and a childrens play-area.
The complex is also surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants.

The mini aqua park is great, with 3 fun water slides for all different ages. The water slides are kept very clean, the staff do clean these every day/night.
The two large swimming pools are surrounded by sun loungers, which are free to use, and there is also a babies swimming pool which has it's own little yellow water slide, very cute.

The shops around the complex sells a wide range of goodys including milk, sun lotions, newspapers, gifts and clothing.
There are plenty of snack bars if you are looking for a cold drink in that burning sun or just a snack.
The reception has a 24 hour money exchange and the Antique Palace also has a sauna, massage and a turkish bath if you wish to pamper yourself after a hard day's sunning.

STAFF & THE SERVICE.

The staff were very friendly, taking time out to get to know you and your family.
I found them to be very polite and extremely helpful. There were staff always at the reception and around the complex if you ever needed one, luckly we didn't.
The staff all spoke very good English and where all very hard workers.

EATING & DRINKING.

The dining room was very large, there is plenty of seating space, we had no problems being seated for our meals and we never saw people queuing up for their meals.
The dining room was always nice and tidy, very clean. the waiter would clean and clear away your plates as soon as you left the table.

There was a good selection of hot and cold food available and it was all fresh, very well cooked and presented. The food was layed out in a buffet style so you can eat as much or as little as you like.
Breakfast, we had a wide choice of eggs, fried or boiled, sausage, bacon, beans and even HP brown sauce and sometimes mushrooms. There was also cereal and a small selection of cheese's and cold meats with pleaty of bread to choose from. To drink you can choose from Tea, Coffee and juice.
For dinner there was a wide choose of food, including a vegetarian option which was pasta, chips,a small selection of cheese's, fruit, ice-cream and cake.
I think the evening meals where the best as you have more choices to choose from like chicken, seafood, burgers, salad, lamb and vegetables.

There is always something to eat no matter what time of day it was as there were plenty of snack bars on the complex with a fine choice of burgers, fries,sandwichs,hot-dogs. There is also cold drinks which are always available from the snack bars like orange juice, Apple juice, lomenade, cola, cold beer or wine.

NIGHT -TIME ENTERTAINMENT

The night-time entertainment was fabulous, with great live shows such as Grease, Elvis and the Blues brothers.
There was a mini disco every night from around 7pm for the children to have a boogie on the dance floor, the kids loved it.
There was also a belly dancing night which was a great laugh.

COMPLAINTS

I had a few complaints about Club Antique Palace and they where that it is a very busy place and it was very hard to find a free sun lounger, it didn't help people coming down and putting their beach towels on the sun loungers at 5am in the morning, me and my boyfriend was off to go down and throw them all in the swimming pool but knowing my look somebody would of seen us.

The other complaint was about the food by the time the second week came, pasta, chips, bread rolls and cheese came abit boring, they could of changed the menu abit.

OVERALL

Overall we were very impressed with this hotel, that impressed we are going back this in June but this time we are getting married. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would recommend Antique Palace to everyone

That was a nice review but a couple of pointers. It would be useful to know what it cost you to stay there. Also, I've never heard of Marmaris or Dalaman airport so I didn't know where in the world you were reviewing until I spotted natalka57's comment below. If I missed it, I apologise.
