I have to say I have a conflict of interest with this club, as my cousin is one of the managers.
Club Cuba is situated on the seafront a short throw from Brighton Pier. It has a reputation for being a really hot club, and we are talking temperature wise here! The club is split into a Bar downstairs and Club upstairs for which you have to pay an entrance fee. Drinks prices are pretty much average but every time I have been to Club Cuba I have had a good time, and my friends share that opinion.
The music genre ranges from at weekends hard house to up lifting trance with DJ’s ranging from Jeremy Healey to Nigel Benn plus the resident DJ’s. During the week you may find salsa lessons or even poetry being read, this depends on the time of year for the crowd that is being covered i.e.holiday makers in summer to students in winter. In summer, the club is guaranteed to be packed with people and this generates a good atmosphere in there to party to.
After clubbing the night away, it’s a relief to crash out on the beachfront and enjoy a rest on those comfortable pebbles. While in a state of half consciousness you enjoy the view of Swedish girls desperate for the toilet, crouching down and peeing on the beachfront as there is no where to run to for cover.
Getting back in a Taxi in Brighton means queuing up at a Taxi rank, as you appear invisible when waving the taxis down in the street. From this I have found parking my car in the city centre the best deal for walking back to it, then crashing out with a Duvet on top of you in your car seats, to awaken to a queue of people at the cash machine at Barclays Bank at 9am.
