Club Quarters Downtown, New York City

Advantages: Plenty to do for all budgets
Disadvantages: Be aware of your safety, and know where you are going and how to get back.

...I would begin by having cocktails in the Rainbow Rooms at the top of the Rockefellar Plaza, fabulous views as seen in 'Sleepless in Seattle' etc, BUT make you you are dressed in your very best, I got turned away for wearing shorts OOps! They were smart shorts! Then hail a cab and go to Greenwich village for some pasta and then park yourself for the rest of the evening in one of the many bars that has live entertainment, you could find somewhere quite easily just strolling around. Or if you prefer, a good night club in downtown Manhatten is 'the City', expensive to get in , pretend you are someone famous, obscure and very English and you could get in for nothing!... ...Now truly an international City. Birmingham. England's Second city should now be mentioned in the same breath as London, New York, Paris, Rome. The birth place of the Industrial Revolution, Birmingham is now the place to go. Whether it be to live, work, shop or play, Birmingham offers the lot. With World class facilities such as the NEC, ICC, NIA and the Symphony Hall. High class living quarters around Brindley Place and the Mailbox. Excellent shopping facilities with the brand new Bull Ring Area, shops such as Harrods and Armani and to top it off, an absolute kicking nightlife, visit Broad St, Star City or the new club Code. Not forgeting it has a brilliant football team - Aston Villa. As you can see Birmingham is now the place to be. Enjoy your visit!... Read review

Advantages: Location - central to theatres, Times Square
Disadvantages: Bustling noisy location may not suit all

...Milford Plaza is in an excellent location if you want to enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown New York. Situated right next to Times Square, it is ideal for the Broadway shows or just to enjoy the hustle and bustle of New York life. On first entering the hotel, it may seem like the Milford has seen better days, but for the price the accommodation is good, clean and ideal. Rooms could be bigger, but in New York space seems to be a premium - and you won't be spending a lot of time there. Compared to many hotels in New York, the Milford Plaza is very good. The staff are helpful and there is definately that New York feel about the place. Like anywhere in NY - or most of the States for that matter - the hotel is room only, so don't expect a slap up breakfast to go with it. However, its location means there are plenty of places to eat... Read review
