would go about getting out! We did have to leave the keys on reception (so they could move the car if required - which they did as it wasn't in the same place when we returned). For us the car park wasn't too much of a problem as we didn't use the car for the break, however it was hard work getting in the small space!
Staff were friendly on arrival and we were seen to our room quickly.
Location
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of York. It is right near the York Dungeons, only 10minutes walk from York Minster. We visited most of the main areas of interest on York and everywhere was close to the hotel. Because we came at Christmas we were also right near a temporary ice rink, which was situated only a few minutes from the hotel.
The Room
We were pleased with the room which was spacious, modern and clean. The room consisted ...

Just returned from staying at Carlton Housewith my wife for our wedding anniversary.
This place is fantastic, it really is.
Have stayed in York on other occasions and always tend to pay over the odds hoping money brings service. The Carlton although not cheap is fantastic value for money and provides the quality of service expected from the top end hotels.
Although in the guest house category I would class this place as a hotel with the added value of that special guest house service.
Arrival was greeted by friendly smile, explanation of facilities, room, parking and location.
Our room was on the first floor, pleasing pastle colours nice double bed, plenty of space with modern ensuite.
The breakfast was in the basement - very light and bright, tables set out perfectly, choices of fruits, juices, cereals and various cooked ...
Advantages: Great Location, Clean and Friendly Staff Disadvantages: Views from hotel itself not great, no free wi fi
My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to New York and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan.
Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington.
If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay.
The location of the hotel is amazing, its a 1 minute walk from Carnegie Hall, 2 minutes from Central Park and 5 minutes from Times Square and is located on the corner of 55th Street and 7th Avenue. The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here.
When we checked in ...
