I came back from a trip to Antigua last month where myself and my (now!) wife got married. We had chosen to stay at the Cocobay Resort and it was truly the perfect place to have stayed. The hotel is all inclusive and is classed as a 3 star superior hotel. We both thought it deserved a higher tag than this though.

The resort is adult only and the rooms are each individual cottages so this allows for privacy and relaxation. The cottages are are pastel coloured of which my wife had wanted a pink coloured one but we ended up in a pale blue one! They are all wooden type ones and the have large balconies with a rather large hammock on and two chairs. The bed in the room looks directly facing the balcony doors so it was gorgeous waking up to a lovely sea view in the morning. A ll rooms have a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities but no tv's!! The idea of the resort is that is specialises in wedding and honeymoon couples and so they believe you won't miss one of these in the room! For those who just need to see some tv there is one in a small communal room near to reception that also has books available.

The staff are very good and helpful and our wedding co-ordinator arranged all the stuff for us - we just told her our colour scheme and she arranged for the cake and flowers to match it! They arrange the marriage license and the travel to the capital to sign legal pares and then arrange for the registrar to come in on the day - all you really have to do is pay for it and turn up! Easy and relaxing!

The hotel has two restaurants - one on the all inclusive and one that is open to non hotel guests too called 'sheer'. It is very well known around the island and quite popular. The food in both is very good and of high quality with waiter service most nights - lunch and breakfast is self service and buffet style.

The bar is open until 11pm and there is entertainment on about 3 nights a week - normally on Sundays especially they have the steel band on which is lovely to listen too.

The hotel has some non motorised watersports included in the all inclusive which are easy to arrange just by going down to the beach. The beach is literally seconds away form the reception but for those who prefer it the pool is right next to the bar. It is only small but really amazing to look at.

The hotel has a massage centre where you can get beauty treatments but my wife (or I for that matter!) didn't try any so can't really say if they are any good!

The maids were excellent too and always leaving flowers for us and on our wedding day itself the maid who was always doing our room even stopped to say 'happy wedding day!' as we passed her doing another cottage - it's not much but in some hotels the maids don't even look or communicate at all with you!

This place is truly stunning and i would say to anyone who gets a chance to stay here to do so - beautiful location on the south west side of the island and a great hotel choice for those looking for a romantic holiday with no children. Prices vary depending on where you book but on the website of the hotel you can get a room for $350 per night so not bad for two people on all inclusive.
