Cocos is a heavenly experience in beautiful maintained grounds, exotic flowers all around. Stunning views out to sea and neighbouring islands from your room, bar, restaurant and pool, you cannot escape the beauty of the island when at cocos. Fourteen huts, mine was number seven which was the deluxe room, it looked directly out to sea with only a few tufts of grass below, spacious acommodation with dark wood flooring, huge four poster bed, bathroom well equipped, spacious and with double doors which opened to reveal a shower on one end of the balcony ( not as weird as it sounds), this was exclusive to room seven. The balcony had table and chairs for 2 and a hammock and views that really do make you quite emotional. The huts were very clean, linen was fresh as new and only one spider in seven nights so insects are no problem, a really clean, comfortable and romantic accommodation. A great idea to go all inclusive, I researched before I went and found cocos was the top restaurant on the island, for the food and location and I totally agree. Breakfast and lunch is only available to people staying at cocos, this gave a huge selection to choose from and I personally eat anything but my husband is more the meat and two veg kind of guy so while breakfast and lunch gave a good mixture of basic plus more exotic meals the dinners were more of the exotic variety, but as you are in heaven you can ask the chef to make alterations or as in my husbands case one evening they prepared him a meal that wasn't even on the menu! Big thumbs up for the restaurant. The bar is small and provides all the essentials, this isn't a place to party it up. At the end of each week they had a party with dancing, by then you would have met the other 26 guests so its quite an intimate affair. Also there was a weekly barbecue at the sister hotel Coco bay, that was delicious, all the fresh seafood cooked in steel drums then dancing to the steel band. Location is actually Jolly beach, jolly harbour is around a twenty minute stroll. Jolly beach is actually home to one of the largest hotels on the island and yet hardly anyone came out to the beach, I began to wonder if there was anyone staying there, Cocos at the very end of the beach was always deserted. Here comes the only drawback, the hotel just mentioned (Jolly beach) has a lively entertainment and can be heard at night, yet it wasn't every night so I personally think it didn't effect my opinion of my stay. The staff will oraganize or do anything for you, they lead the way for customer service. Everything at Cocos is first rate for that perfect getaway for couples, no children allowed. Value for money? definately. If you want to be entertained, play tennis etc this is not the place, but to relax, eat and drink well and have the option for a excursion or shopping in St Johns this is it! A 5 star accommodation with a 3 star price tag, a relaxing, tranquil, intimate and friendly retreat.
