Many people would turn there back on Northern Ireland, too many terrorists and not enough love. Well, obviously these people haven’t been around Coleraine at night, it truly is the place to be.
Coleraine Borough is an outstandingly beautiful area featuring some of the most spectacular countryside in Northern Ireland. An ideal holiday base for all the family, there's simply so much to see and do.
For children there are water activities, beaches, adventure playgrounds and amusements. Golfers can perfect their game on any one of ten challenging courses while anglers will enjoy some of the best fishing in Europe. Watersports and lots of other activities are easily accessible. Lots of Colourful spectacles and events include the Raft Race Festival and North West 200 Motor Cycle Races to name but two.
A range of excellent accommodation is provided too, most of which have received the NI Board Awards for Standards of Service and Quality, together with numerous well equipped caravan and camping parks. All in all, the Coleraine promises you a warm welcome, as well as room to move and time to unwind.

Coleraine is set in a very good location in Northern Ireland, right up in the north. It is also located very new the infamous town of Ballymoney, which is a must visit if you go to Coleraine. Ballymoney is famous because the farmers there many of years ago broke away from the norm and started to drink tea, which at the time only English nobels drank, so it is the people of Ballymoney you should thank when having that cup of tea at night (unless you’re an English nobel of course.)
Coleraine is also situated only a few minutes drive away from the Giant’s Causeway, one of the Seven Wonders of the World! It is definitely one of the things everyone must see at least once before he or she die!
All and all, Coleraine is an ever-expanding town. With more and more things to do every week, it’s a great choice for a holiday. Also. if you go there you can visit me! (I’m in Ballymoney!)
Advantages: Beautiful coastline and scenery Disadvantages: its cold and it rains a lot!
...The nightlife is brilliant in coleraine, with Portstewart and Portrush within 3 0r 4 miles from coleraine, they make a great combo and the three are known as the triangle. One bar you must go to is The Anchor. I used to work in this bar while i was at uni and ive never had so much fun during work since! The craic is brilliant and if you fancy something a little different - Bar7 is only across the road. If its a nightclub your after - the only place ... ...lots of caravan sites in coleraine, portrush and portstewart area, and B&B's so there is never a shortage of places to stay. People i find very very friendly. Its just an irish thing i think!!
You should definately come to visit coleraine or northern ireland in general. however, i wouldnt plan a long visit as you could see and do quite a lot in just 2 or 3 days! ...

Advantages: Beautiful and loads to do Disadvantages: rains alot
Most people not from Northern Ireland tend to dismiss it when deciding where to go on holiday, which is a shame beacause of what the north Antrim coast has to offer!
SIGHTS
Obviously the giants causeway is a must see. Its very beautiful, and good fun to climb around it! Theres also a cliff walk around there with nice views, and a gift shop on site. You can get a bus from the shop to the causeway if you dont feel like walking (its a steep hill!)
... ...visit if you're not afraid of heights! This is a rope bridge between 2 cliffs which is open to the public during the summer. Don't worry - its entirely safe!
Dunluce castle is so interesting to walk around. You can read all about the history as you walk around it.
Lets not forget the beaches! Portstewart strand and white rocks beack i reccomend. White park bay is also very nice.

Coleraine is a great town. Its 15 mminutes from the north coast and 5 minutes from the green countyside. Coleraine has a leisure centre with swimming pool and gym, has a new 6 screen cinema only opened recently. It has a good shopping area which is pedestrian zone only. If you come to Coleraine you have all the local sites like the Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and all that, but you also have Bushmills Distrilllery where they make WHiskey! And ... ...bike race. And if you're here in the summer you can come and watch the the famous Milk Cup which is a junior Football/soccer tournament with teams from around the world. Also in the summer months there are many band parades which are great colourful and musical. hut knows us, & we have gotten a few goodie bags ourselves. Recently they have had Garfield ones, with a free pair of sunglasses.
Pizza hut can be very hit and miss though. There are a few excellent ones in NorthernIreland, especially the one in Yorkgate in Belfast, but a few others, most notably the recently opened one in Coleraine is slightly hit and miss, including the time my vegetarian bf was given a pizza with chicken on it. My friend and I also waited over half an hour for dessert one day, the guy serving our table had gone on a break, and no one took over his duties!
Pizza hut mainly sells pizzas, the Italian with a thin base, and deep pan with a thicken base. There's also the edge, with toppings to the edge of the pizza and the stuffed crust which is only available in large. There is a range of toppings, and there are ...
Advantages: Stunning scenery, friendly locals, lots of drink. Disadvantages: Makes Father Ted look like a documentary. The weather.
of Ireland, but it's in the South. It's part of Ulster, but not part of NorthernIreland. It's all terribly confusing. Big chunks of Donegal are Gaeltacht regions (i.e., they only speak Irish and will look at you blankly when you call into the local shop on the hunt for a pot noodle and a packet of fags.) You'll know you're in a Gaeltacht region because people will sound like they're communicating solely by coughing and making random vowel sounds. Never worry though, the time-honoured British tradition of talking A LOT LOUDER and pointing should see you through. Big industry hasn't really made it as far as Donegal, and neither have reliable telecommunications, sensible roads, the concept of sobriety or any vegetable other than potatoes.
Anyway, that's Donegal in a (painfully stereotypical but also quite accurate) nutshell. Let's move ...

HISTORY OF HOTEL (This information is also from the hotel's web site)
The history of the Causeway Hotel in NorthernIreland goes back well over 150 years. One of the earliest issues of the Coleraine Chronicle, the local paper (4 May 1844) advertises the facilities of the "Causeway Hall", located where the present hotel stands. The owner at the time promised "by diligence and attention to do all in his power to promote the comfort of his guests and they may depend on his always keeping a well stocked larder and being well supplied with the choicest wines and liquors."
