Although I believe of late he has lost his way slightly during the 70's, 80's, and 90's he was easily the guy at the top of the ladder. The Robert De Niro collection gathers 5 of his works together; unfortunately with these sort of collections the quality of work is impeded by the fact that the company releasing the box set is only offering the best of that actors movies from their stock catalogue. As a result although we have five films, four of which are very good but they are obviously not the five best movies of his career.
