Cologne is a beautiful city. It's main tourist attraction is the grand and extravagant Cologne cathedral, which is situated in the city centre. Their are tours available and includes a great deal of interesting information and history of the cathedral. It is also possible to ascend the hundreds of stairs to the top of the cathedral, where there is a picturesque view of the city. Surrounding the cathedral is both the new and old market, which are excellent places for shopping. Approximately 30 minutes leisurely walk from the cathedral along the river is a chocolate museum! They have a chocolate fountain, with free samples of chocolate. There is also a gift shop where chocolates of all different kinds, shapes and sizes can be found to suit everyone's tastes!
