Advantages: Good public transport, plenty to see and do Disadvantages:
...Cologne is a great city, with a great deal to see and do, and plenty of bars and restaurants at relatively cheap prices. Although the airport is a bit out of the centre, it is easily reachable and the public transport network is very good, serving all of the surrounding area. For the young there are a lot of thigns to do, whilst for older people there are lots of shops to satiate the appetite. The cathedral is obviously the main attraction, and it towers over the city. From Cologne it is possible to travel extensively, into France and down to Southern Germany and Switzerland. Although it is probably not big enough to make the main focus of a holiday, it is certainly a good base for four or five days to expolore the surrounding areas, and accommodation is fairly easy to find and relatively inexpensive....

...Cologne is a beautiful city. It's main tourist attraction is the grand and extravagant Cologne cathedral, which is situated in the city centre. Their are tours available and includes a great deal of interesting information and history of the cathedral. It is also possible to ascend the hundreds of stairs to the top of the cathedral, where there is a picturesque view of the city.
Surrounding the cathedral is both the new and old market, which are excellent places for shopping.
Approximately 30 minutes leisurely walk from the cathedral along the river is a chocolate museum! They have a chocolate fountain, with free samples of chocolate. There is also a gift shop where chocolates of all different kinds, shapes and sizes can be found to suit everyone's tastes!...

Advantages: many shops, antique buildings Disadvantages: ----
...I flew to Cologne the last weekend. I arrived at Cologne Airport and got a bus to the city of Cologne.
It's worth seeing!!! There are many shops, you can buy CDs, clothes, everything. And it's very chaep, too. Much cheaper than the shops in London. Then I went to Cologne's chocolade museum. You can learn about chocolade production and you can taste many kinds of chocolade - very delicious. After that I went to the Roman museum. You can see very many antique buildings and reamins of the Roman time. If you are in Cologne first visit the Roman museum. It's superb. The next day i went to a musical. Sorry, but I have forgotten its name. It's was cool, too. At night I flew home. What a cool weekend!!!
I don't know anything about the nightlife.
I just filled in something....
