Castle, and is within easy walking distance of the theatre, shops and other amenities. As 'Capital of the Highlands', Inverness is an excellent base for exploring this part of Scotland. Loch Ness with its famous monster is only a few miles away, and in the opposite direction lies the Culloden Battlefield. It is also close to Strath Spey and the whisky trail to the south and the spa town of Strathpeffer, the Black Isle and the Dornoch Coast, famous for its beaches and golf 'links' to the north. The hotel has 86 rooms on 4 floors.

Had the time of my life at The Columba - probably the best hotel in Inverness. The quality food, fantastic room (with a view directly over to the Castle) and fantastic location, just on the river ,meant that, for once, we'd picked the right hotel! The duty manager Bryan was brilliant - very attentive and helpful. He served us some wonderful scottish beef and scottish salmon and offered advice on where to spend the following day.
The decor is great - recently refurbished in an Edwardian style, the hotel screams charm and style.
We had a fantastic time, and would highly recommend the place.
