Advantages: The location- best value for money in this area Disadvantages: Probably not for the five star tourist.
I have to say that when we first started planning our Californian trip, Carmel was one of the hardest places to find reasonably priced accommodation, unless you're prepared to sleep in a tent, and I don't do tents.
So when we pitched up here I was pleasantly surprised. All the rooms are cabin-style and the overall layout is quite spacious with each two 'cabins' sharing a little decked verandah out front. The inside is rustic too with a small fireplace, fridge, and coffee maker and although you might find the carpets and some of the paintwork looking a little tired, I thought it added to the character.
The Resort Inn is well located and just a stone's throw from Ocean Boulevard which is at the heart of Carmel. Carmel is where you should stay if you want to travel down the beautiful 17 Mile Drive. (The Drive is a toll road but ...
Carmels a sweet little american village but thats about it! There is the 17 mile drive that gives some fantastic scenery and a chance to see some squirrelys and sealions which is very sweet. Advantages: It's relatively cheap to stay in the room, so it's not all too bad. Disadvantages: The staff, the prices in the restaurant, I know it's London, but I was shocked
Here is the review:
When we decided to book our trip to New York for my 18th we knew the only way to really get to London, was by National Express. Only one of us drives and that person doesn?t feel safe on motorways. The National Express journey was terrible, but when we booked the package, we also booked a hotel called ComfortInn. We were quite shocked when we were dropped outside of Terminal 5, to then have to wait about 20 minutes for another bus to get to the hotel.
I myself was quite shocked to find that the trip took about 20 minutes to get to the ComfortInn; I thought it would have been on the doorstep of Heathrow, but apparently I was very naive in this aspect. I truthfully thought that when we got to the airport, we?d drag our suitcases around the corner and then ta da, we?ll be at the hotel. This is my own fault ...
