industry to be the most welcoming to tourists. Unfortunately we didn?t get the welcome we?d expected. The man behind the desk didn?t say anything as we came in ? he just stood there and waited for me to hand over our booking reference. All he said was ?Your room?s on the first floor, the stairs are behind you?. He obviously hadn?t noticed the size of our suitcases, but fortunately we managed to locate the lift ? there was certainly no question of asking for assistance with our bags! No information re hotel facilities or restaurant was given on arrival.
Location
The Days Inn is less than a five minute walk from the NiagaraFalls which was really convenient. Most of the hotels in Niagara seemed to be in the same area. This made it really easy to get to the Falls, especially in the evening when we went to see the Falls lit up ...
Advantages: Fun holiday resort with exceptional Waterfalls Disadvantages: Can get extremely busy in summer months
As some of you will know last year I was fortunate to holiday in Canada, staying with friends who live and work in Toronto and with two fantastic people as tour guides I had a holiday of a lifetime. One of the highlights of my holiday was my three-day visit to NiagaraFalls more precisely the Niagara Region. Both my friends knew the region well considering both had relatives in the area and had visited the Falls many, many times before, so who better to show me the splendours of the resort. NiagaraFalls has a multitude of attractions, sights and events, far too many to record here but I shall endeavour to recount some of those places I visited and those attractions I experienced with a little history and fact thrown in for good measure.

Advantages: breathtaking falls Disadvantages: Clifton Hill area
NiagaraFalls is one of the most awe-inspiring sights that I have ever seen. Before you can see the falls you can hear the thunder of the water cascading over the edge. We were there in June 2000 and found the place to be one of contrasts. The Niagara Parkway which runs alongside the Falls and on north to Niagara on the Lake is undoubtedly one of the nicest stretches of road that I have ever travelled along. The area immediately next to the Falls is quite scenic with well manicured gardens and floral displays but only one block west at the Clifton Hill area you have what can only be described as tourist trash- a combination of hideous neon displays advertising Ripley’s’ believe it or not’ and Madame Tussauds etc - it is totally out of sync with the raw, natural beauty of the Falls and surrounding area to the north ...
