The Comfort Inn hotel, perfectly located on an arborous mountain top overlooking the pristine Delaware Valley, is situated at the border where the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania state lines meet.
Advantages: The atmosphere & the culture Disadvantages: The traffic & the expensiveness!
...No, no-one actually says that very often in Dublin these days, but you can find many other traditional Irish customs in a very historical city, with plenty to see & experience.
It's all gone a bit cosmopolitan recently with the influx of EU money, but you'll get a good exchange rate with sterling currency, so the shopping experience is a must. Check out Grafton Street and O'Connell Street, both in th city centre, if you're looking for big high street names and fashionable (if expensive) cafes. For the more lazy among you, the new St Stephen's Green shopping centre & the Jervis shopping centre have it all under one roof. If you're more adventurous and looking for something offbeat, try the Temple Bar area, which also pretty central.
Drinking & eating out can be pretty expensive in Dublin these days, but stick to traditional Irish pubs...

Advantages: Beautiful,Genuine taste of the Caribbean of the past Disadvantages: Poverty
...Haiti is steeped in tradition and is well known for its association with Voodoo. Port au Prince is home to the Holiday Inn and Presidential Palace (next door) once inhabited by the infamous Papa Doc Duvalier. The Hills surrounding the capital are lush green and a trip into the hills with the local taxi driver (who you will not be able to rid yourself of for your whole stay)reveals a truly untouched country and echoes the real caribbean of many centuries ago.
The other half of the land mass on which Haiti sits (espanol) is the more easily recognised Dominican republic...

Advantages: Too many to list here... Disadvantages: Too far away from the UK...
.... There are also 2 FREE buses, the 99B (the Beeline) and the 99C which run set routes around the city centre, with buses leaving Victoria Square every five minutes or so. All buses in Adelaide run on natural gas, very environmentally friendly.
At the Interstate Train Terminal in Keswick (about halfway between the airport and the city) you can get one of those world famous 'huge' trains to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Alice Springs. There's also the Central Bus Terminal on Franklin St, where you can get State buses, Interstate services and also many tours leave from there including the Sealink bus to Cape Jervis for the ferry to Kangaroo Island
~ACCOMMODATION~
For those of you who are interested, while there I always stay at the Adelaide Backpackers Inn on Carrington Street (just south of Victoria Square). All I'm going to say here, is it's the best...
