If you arrived here, looking for a review on a comfortable Vauxhall Vectra or Corsa, my semi-sincere apology.! The Comfort Inn group have a hotel in Vauxhall, London which I experimented with recently. I reckon this one is typical of the rest of the chain even though they are franchised to individual owners. So here we go !
Booking =======
You can book direct or through any number of agents, and I used Superbreak. I find the hotels they use to be fine and the deals they provide can be very reasonable - just hunt round online to be sure before you book.
Cost ====
By going through Superbreak I was able to get a room in Vauxhall for £38, pretty good for a Friday night. That included Continental Breakfast in the morning.
Location =======
The hotel is less than half a mile from Vauxhall station, and that gives freedom of choice for Tube or mainline trains. Buses pass by the door, and there is room for cars to park. It is walking distance from Westminster, London Eye and such like, but it is a fair walk on a hot day or in the rain!
Appearance ==========
It looks a bit functional from the outside, and I would describe the interior as slightly better than functional. Neither are real criticisms as I would far rather have my money spent on functional issues as on fancy details which mask impractical hotels.
Check-in =======
My voucher did say that check in was from 1400, and I was chancing my arm by expecting to get in at 1230, but I was still a bit aggravated that there was clearly no go on the times! However, there was an agreement that I could leave my case securely until I returned, so the hotel was not really at fault.
When I came back, check in was straightforward, and the key card quickly supplied.
Room =====
I had booked a single, but got a twin room. It struck me as spacios, with all that was needed. Hanging space for clothes, TV, a desk and swivel chair for work purposes, the twin beds which were comfortable, tea and coffee making facility, a safe big enough for a laptop, modem and fax facility, and a good size wash and shower room, with fully working power shower.!
There was a ceiling mounted fan which was useful as it was one of the hottest days of the year so far. I am not sure whether there was air-conditioning as well! There did not seem to be any controls for air-con, and yet when I went in the room was pleasantly cool. Full marks whatever the system is.!
Breakfast ========
The restaurant area stays open most of the day for tea, coffee and very light snacks, but was not serving meals, other than breakfast. Staff helpfully named some of the good tapas eateries locally for evening meal.
Breakfast was a help-yourself-continental one, with plenty of cereal, bread, croissants, meat, cheese, jam, marmalade , plus juice, and a hot-drinks machine and toaster.
Noise =====
Staying in London often brings the expected risk of noise through much of the night. There was none noticeable, and I had a great sleep, having got all my prep for the next day's work complete.
Conclusion =========
It was good value at this price - a bit too dear if you pay the full £120. It was clean, tidy, and modern. It did the job I needed, and I would certainly go back.

Whenever I travel to London I stay in Vauxhall too, but I have a friend who owns a house there. This hotel seem to be a good tip nevertheless. Sascha

Sounds reasonable although not at the full price. Good review. Dave

I stayed in a comfort Inn when I visited Boston last year and it was pretty basic, they didn’t even have a bar to get a drink – guess yours didn’t either as you didn’t mention it. Jane x
