I don't think you've seen the best Tel Aviv has to offer here. The artist's area behind Yafo that you were trying to get to has been considerably gentrified with buildings valued in the millions of dollars. There are still one or two decrept looking wrecks but the value of this property, so close to the Med, is rocketing and the surrounding community is starting to reflect that. While Tel Aviv is a wholly secular city, it's a pity that you were there at a time when there was less hustle and bustle than normal. |

I think Tel Aviv is a great city, the beach is lovely and there is so much history. I enjoyed reading this, thanks. |

I don´t like visiting Israel. Ich hätte einfach zu viel Angst. Aber nach Ägypten except nördlich des roten Meeres würde ich sofort wieder gehen. *gg* |

Me and my wife are seriously thinking about a world tour next year and Israel is on the itinarary. Your review was quite downbeat but then you surprised me saying you enjoyed it. It was quite an enlightening review and an enthralling read clearly expressing your personal feelings and experiences which i like. Much more realistic than any commercial guide. Gives you a feel for the place which you certainly achieved. Off to read your Jerusalem review. Tony |

Perhaps the bazaar area was picturesque in former times and the guide book was a bit old. Pat.t x |

I wouldn't mind seeing Jerusalem again, but Tel Aviv just doesn't appeal, irrespective of the political situation (on which, in accordance with your request, I'm not going to comment). Most interesting review, though. Duncan |
