Como is a very good place to buy silk products. Until 2 years ago there was a factory outlet in one of the secondary roads coming from Varese, I am not sure if it is still there, I would assume it is. You could buy designer ties for basement prices, without the label on them! Apart from this, Como is a good place to explore the nearby area, if you rely on public transport, while, if you have your own car, I would probably look for a place somewhere along the lake. The lake itself is pretty scenic. In summer it is possible to bath, although not in Como, while in winter you can go skiing in the mountains. On Sunday Como tends to be quite depressing, as if nobody were living there. I never found out why, but that’s the way it is!
