Advantages: Good value and top service all round Disadvantages: Less suitable for families and older couples
...Me and 3 friends visited Tenerife and stayed in Oro Blanco in July '06. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for the week. All the staff had very good English and helped us whenever and wherever they could.
I should say though, it is recommended more for the 'younger generation' due to the increased popularity Oro Blanco has for the younger holiday goers especially with a very cheap happy hour, pool tables, table tennis tables and such alike. However, it shouldn't put off families or couples as our experience at the Oro Blanco, which is in a perfect location for Playa De Las Americas, was spot on and couldn't have asked for much more. In addition, food and drink is also top quality at the accomodation, something we benefited from being a self-catering holiday....

Advantages: A beautiful town and easy to travel to lots more places Disadvantages: Some steep walking so may not suit everyone
...Sorrento is a great centre to explore some beautiful parts of Italy. We saved money by organising our own trips - public transport is really efficient, whether it's train, bus or boat, and much cheaper (and more fun) than trips organised by tour operators. You have to see Pompeii - out tour guide was an unusual mix of witty academic who loved Pompeii enough to want to take us tourists around! 10 Euros well spent. ...Many travellers know Genova for its port..AND its port only. Although there are many small villages along the coast, not far from Genova, which make a good destination and offer a reason for moving away form Genova, the city itself retain some character. A major problem is the presence of many people from outside Europe, mainly North Africa. Unfortunately some areas of the town and of the old town should be avoided at night, especially by single women travellers. Still, Genova is a good place to get some tasty and cheap food. My favourite is “Trattoria da Maria”, in Vico Testa d’oro 14. My local friend call this place “At the dirty”, since it is not spot clean, but, personally, I never found it unbearably dirty and never had any problem after eating there. With £4 you get a 2 course meal with wine. I like the place very much for its...
